Eliane Elias

Eliane Elias (b. 1960) is a Brazilian jazz composer, pianist, and singer. Born on the 19th March 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil, Elias started learning to play the piano at the age of seven, and was transcribing solo portions of her parents’ jazz records by the age of twelve. After studying for six years (and teaching by the age of fifteen) at Brazil’s prestigious Free Centre of Music Apprenticeship, she continued her classical education with Amilton Godoy and Amaral Vieria.

There are two artists known as 'Quinta': 1) Quinta is a solo artist based in London, UK. Quinta plays violin, viola, musical saw, keyboards, clarinet, toy and vintage instruments, and anything else that makes a good noise. As well as her solo work, Quinta currently plays with Orphans & Vandals, Pthhhh, and Victoria Hume. She has played also with Joni Davis, Bat for Lashes, Mette Bille, Clearlake, Mary Hampton, The Accidental, Chris Letcher, London Breakbeat Orchestra, Tundra, and Ginger Lee. Quinta's debut album 'My Sister, Boudicca' was released on April 13th 2009 on Tartaruga Records.
