More than one band have used this name, including: 1.) A garage band formed in Danville, IL in the mid-1960's. The members were only 12 or 13 years old when they recorded their sole single, 1966's "Try"/"Goodbye," issued on the Milky Way label (most famous as the home of rockabilly garage wildman Dean Carter). Both sides of the single were written by Cobras guitarist Eric Welsch, and considering the age of the performers, it wasn't bad.
Wayne Fontana (born Glynn Ellis on 28 October 1945, Manchester, Lancashire), was a popular mid sixties pop singer. In 1962, he formed his group Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders and got a recording contract. Hit tracks with The Mindbenders included 1964's UK top 5 single "Um Um Um Um Um Um", and 1965's "Game of Love" which hit US #1. He was still under contract to Fontana Records after parting with The Mindbenders. He soldiered on alone, using musicians under the name of the Opposition.

Side A are also a multi-awarded, platinum-certified band from the Philippines, best known for their romantic ballad Forevermore. The band formed in 1985, and performed at the Calesa Music Bar and Lounge at the Hyatt Regency, Pasay City between 1986 and 1989. In 1987 they recorded their first song, Eva Marie (written by Joey Benin) and in 1989 they recorded their first self-titled album.

Rocky Burnette was part of the early 1980s revival of the rockabilly style. He released his first album, Son of Rock 'n' Roll, on EMI America in 1979. In the summer of 1980, his single "Tired of Toein' the Line" became a Top Ten hit in the United States. The song was also popular internationally. EMI America's financial problems interfered with promotion efforts for the follow-up singles (several of which became hits in other countries), and Burnette's second album, Heart Stopper, was not successful.
Albert Hammond OBE (born 18 May 1944 in London, England, and raised in Gibraltar) is a British singer, songwriter and record producer. He is probably best known for his early 70s hits "It Never Rains In Southern California" and 'Free Electric Band' - but he went on to write countless hits for other artists such as Madonna and Leo Sayer. In 1987, Hammond's composition with Diane Warren "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" (recorded by Jefferson Starship) was nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy.
The Bee Gees, originally made up of three brothers: Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb (died 2012), and Maurice Gibb (died 2003), have been successful for most of their 40-plus years of recording music. They had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a pop act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and as a foremost act of the disco music era in the late 1970s. The Gibb brothers were born on the Isle of Man, UK to English parents in 1946 (Barry Alan Crompton Gibb, September 1) and 1949 ( twins Robin Hugh Gibb and Maurice (pronounced "Morris") Ernest Gibb, December 22).
Dexys Midnight Runners - the name consistently spelled without an apostrophe - were a British post-punk and northern soul band who achieved their major success in the early to mid 1980s. The word "Dexys" in this case, comes from a colloquialism of "dextroamphetamine" or "purple hearts," a type of amphetamine diet pill that was a popular "upper" drug with England's Northern Soul scene in the 1960s.
The Castells were a male vocal quartet from Santa Rosa, California best remembered for their hits Sacred (#20 in 1961) and So This Is Love (#21 in 1962), both released on Era Records. Their sound blended light rock with elements of collegiate harmony singing and jazz and proved popular with teenagers as well as adults. Member Chuck Girard later joined the surf rock group The Hondells, and in the 1970s became a popular and pioneering CCM artist.
Huddie Ledbetter (23 January 1888-6 December 1949) was a leading American blues singer and guitarist. His songbook contained a large number of standard folk tunes, most adapted from previous sources. Though many of his posthumous releases list him as "Leadbelly," he himself spelled it "Lead Belly." This is also the usage on most of his original records, tombstone, as well as of the Lead Belly Foundation.
