Conlon Nancarrow

Conlon Nancarrow (b. October 27, 1912, Texarkana - d. August 10, 1997, Mexico City) was an American-born composer who lived most of his life in Mexico. Nancarrow is remembered almost exclusively for the pieces he wrote for the player piano. He was one of the first composers to use musical instruments as mechanical machines, utilising their capacity to play complex polyrhythms at tempos far beyond human performance ability.

Felipe Andres Coronel (born February 19, 1978), better known by the stage name Immortal Technique, is a Peruvian rapper, and an urban activist. He was born in Lima, Peru and raised in Harlem, New York. Most of his lyrics focus on controversial issues in global politics. The views expressed in his lyrics are largely a mixture of socialist commentary on issues such as class hierarchy, poverty, religion, government and institutional racism.

1) Randy are a band from Hortlax, Sweden, formed in 1992. They are inspired by older punk bands as The Misfits and Ramones. So far, they have released six albums. The latest album is called Randy the Band. Randy have been dropped from their previous label burning heart records - popular label based in Sweden, and are currently seeking a new label. ------------
Real bands are hard to find nowadays, but Randy is definitely the real deal. When members in other bands happily avoid each other after a long tour, Randy go on vacation together.

The Coup

The Coup is a group based in Oakland, California. It formed as a three-member group in 1992 with rappers (Raymond) Boots Riley and E-Roc along with DJ Pam the Funkstress. E-Roc left on amicable terms after the group's second album, but appears on the track "Breathing Apparatus" on The Coup's third album, Steal This Album. The group is now a duo. The Coup, part of the sub-genre of political hip hop, is politically radical and Marxist in their music, and align themselves with other radical hip-hop groups like dead prez.

Dead Kennedys

Dead Kennedys are a hardcore punk/punk rock band from San Francisco, California. During the 1980s the band gained a large underground following in the international punk music scene. Their music mixed the more experimental elements of English 1970s punk with the raw energy of the 1980s American scene. Dead Kennedys' songs mix the deliberately shocking lyrics of punk with a satirical and sarcastic left-wing commentary on social and political issues.

Young Hegelians

Young Hegelians are a Teesside based post punk trio of guitar bass and drums. Founded in 2009, they combine new wave guitars and fuzz with a dark jazz/math rock influence. They are influenced by the Stranglers, XTC, and Talking Heads but the left leaning lyrical content places them firmly in the ground inhabited by Manic Street Preachers, Gang of Four, Billy Bragg and Future of the Left.
