Adelaide's Cape

Adelaide's Cape is the nu-folk music of Sam Taylor. Sam works with a collective of talented musicians in both performance and recording, most prominently with percussionist Hannah Richardson, who has been involved in Adelaide's Cape since its beginning. After relocating to the Southwest in September, Adelaide's Cape is continuously immersed in the musical hubs of Bristol, Norwich and London.

You Me Tree

You Me Tree started life on the road, when two singer/songwriters from opposite ends of the globe crossed paths in a small town called Barcelona. After 3 subsequent years of travel their paths met once more in the south of England, and the seeds of inspiration they had gathered from the far corners of the world took root and began to flower into a really cheesy band bio. True story. We make really good (non cheesy) music though. Promise. Started 1 April 2011

Hiawatha Telephone Company

Songs of life and love, ancient and modern. From Brighton on the southcoast of England. Played by Jon, sometimes on his little old nylon string guitar. Thirteen low-fi demos of HTC's songs are included in the collection of demos 'Harry Smith was my Father' available to listen and download via Bandcamp. We would be delighted to hear from people who like them. There's also a charming review by Common Folk Meadow blog.

Andy & the Big Shark

A ukulele, guitar, washboard, two microphones and some chattering teeth - Andy & The Big Shark are a band comprised of no actual humans, just objects that seems to play themselves when nobody is looking and leave their sweet harmonies on the tape recorder in the cellar of an art shop in suburbian Britain. The key songwriter in this project is Johnny Taylor, but he features many guest musicians, including people from the street and his friends. He is constantly recording. ALWAYS.

Doghouse Roses

Guitarist Paul Tasker & singer Iona Macdonald formed Doghouse Roses in late 2005 after one too many nights listening to old music whilst drinking red wine. They soon developed a sound that lies in the spaces between Pentangle and Fairport Convention, with a nod to Gillian Welch on the way. Doghouse Roses have released two EPs to date and their full length debut, “How’ve You Been (All This Time)?” was released on the 6th of October, and preceded by a single, “Greener the Grass / Years”, in May.

Dear Winesburg

Folk four piece Dear Winesburg combine English folk traditions with American Appalachian and Delta blues influences. With mesmerising violin parts that weave between the layered boy-girl vocals, the songs are a mix of energetic storytelling and beautiful introspection, underpinned by lyrical and musical prowess.
