Califone

Califone is a critically-acclaimed experimental folk band from Chicago. The band is named after Califone International, a long-standing manufacturer of audio equipment commonly found in schools, libraries and businesses. Califone is the musical project of former Red Red Meat frontman Tim Rutili. Its regular and rotating contributors include many former members of Red Red Meat and some members of other Chicago bands, such as Tortoise.

Curly Hair

Curly Hair was born in Brighton, England on a cold and frosty morn in late 2008. They are part of the Willkommen Collective along with such bands as: Sons of Noel and Adrian, Laish Quartet and Shoreline. Their first release is planned for June 2009; a split album with Klaus Says Buy The Record released through Toy Soldier Records.

Cat Power

Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.

Derek R. Santos is an enigma. There's really no way to describe him other than to say, "Meow."
At a young age, he knew he was destined for greatness, and a life much more eventful than the dull one he was experiencing in Bristol, Rhode Island. Among the countless lawn ornaments, and Portuguese ghetto/goths that inhabited his hometown, he made a name for himself as an indie-folk genious.
