The Portlands

The Portlands' Bio The Portlands formed in 2009 in the north-west of England, Manchester, and have toured the world with their distinct brand of Folk Rock 'N' Roll. After sharing studio time with Elbow only three months into their formation at Blueprint Studios, they went on to play some of the most prestigious venues in the country on their first UK Tour, and finished with a 15,000 capacity crowd festival date at the end of summer 2010.

This is more than one artist with this name. 1. Christopher Alan (Chris) Young (born June 12, 1985 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) is an American country music artist. In 2006, he was declared the winner of the television program Nashville Star, a singing competition which airs on the USA Networks. After winning, he was signed to RCA Records Nashville, releasing his self-titled debut album that year.

What happens when you put a bunch of bloodthirsty, music-loving goblins together? Well, a lot of disembowelment, but also a lot of catchy tunes. Formed six millennia ago, and practicing only every other leap year on a full moon, the band has perfected their brand of crushing . On a cold, dreary winter night in July of 2006, Nicholas Von Doom and Tim were in the woods engaging in general tomfoolery when they stumbled upon a mysterious cardboard box with their names crudely inscribed with a Sharpie® Permanent Marker.

Michael Landau

Michael Landau is a jazz/blues/rock/fusion guitarist based out of Los Angeles. His unique style features an ability to master incredibly difficult technique while demonstrating a wealth of harmonic and tonal ingenuity. His songwriting ability is astounding and underrated, as such masterful compositions such as "Johnny Swing" and "Me/Five Storks" show that Landau is not just a soloist and guru, but a true genius of blues/rock compositions.

Bill Frisell

Bill Frisell was born in Baltimore, but was raised in Denver, CO. Once a classical clarinetist, he established a firm base in his traditional harmonic knowledge early on in life. Throughout high school and college he also played guitar in various rock and R&B groups in the Denver area. During high school, however, he became profoundly interested in jazz guitar. In 1971 Frisell attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and also began studying with Jim Hall, one of the prominent jazz guitarists of the 1960s.
