Simon Says No!

Just for the record Oslo-based band Simon Says No did not take their name from the popular children's game "Simon Says..." If you're interested in the full story, we'll have to start from the beginning. The seeds of Simon Says No! were formed years ago, before the band was even a figment of anyone's imagination. Current and future band mates Ruben Nesse (guitar/vocals) and Simon Oakland (guitar) were on a European tour in ’06 with their then current band, hardcore outfit Jeroan Drive.

Fiel Garvie

Based in Norwich, England, Fiel Garvie is one of the United Kingdom's most enigmatic and innovative pop music ensembles. After a previous collaboration in the acclaimed quartet Passing Clouds in the early 1990s (Protect Your Paper Ears EP, Creation's Happy Reel EP), Anne Reekie and Adam Green formed Fiel Garvie in 1996, along with Greg MacDermott and Jude Bugden. MacDermott had previously played with Jane Pow! in the 1990s (and currently also plays with the Japanese-pop / art-punk outfit Hyper Kinako).

Dr. Octagon

Dr. Octagon is one of Kool Keith's many alter egos. His initial release as Dr. Octagon was 1996's Dr. Octagonecologyst, on which he collaborated with Dan the Automator Nakamura and DJ QBert. After the name was dropped in favour of Dr. Dooom, it was widely believed that it wouldn't be used again until the release of 2006's The Return of Dr. Octagon, which Keith maintains was changed and released without his consent.

Lord John

Lord John was an American Bomp! Records band in the late 1980s. Their sound has been compared to that of Echo & The Bunnymen, yet with enough psychedelia in the mix to often have them touted as part of the then emerging paisley underground movement, which was gaining momentum on both the West Coast, as well in the New York underground. Their debut album "Six Days of Sound" (1986) was praised by critics [1].

The band's name in Japanese consists of two words, "asobi" meaning "play" or "for fun", and "sekkusu" the Japanese imported word for"sex" . Their sound has been said to draw influence from the shoegazing movement of the late 1980s to early 1990s, which was coined to describe the textured and effects-heavy sound of alternative rock in that era.
