An individualist who used the cliches of the past to force his way into the future, Wine debuted in 1993, at the notorious TamTam club in St. Petersburg.
Wine's aura is distinctively English. Winer sticks to melancholy, shoe-gazing pop which has always been more of a british phenomenon.
Kinks were the first and, probably, the greatest Winer's influence. And His Nasal Majesty Ray Davies still remains some kind of a Godfather for Winer.
EF is a five-piece band from Gothenburg, Sweden. It all started in May 2003, and soon they stood in a small basement and created quite heavy music. It didn't take long for them to find that melodies, emotions and explosions were more interesting. During the first 3 years they recorded and released 4 CD-R demos and began playing in various locations around Sweden. In the summer of 2005 they were contacted by US label Raise The Red Flag. They decided to co-op, and a full length album was released during 2006.
Leeds based 5-piece We Sell Seashells unexpectedly evolved in 2008 from the bindings of C.S Lewis' science fictional manuscripts. At first, they were primitive and highly unstable organisms. Being the offspring of the author's more peculiar writings We Sell Seashells began to grow bizarre appendages, proboscises and a number of shocking psychic influences from Lewis' much overlooked galactic saga 'The Cosmic Trilogy'.
"Mad and magical and norwegian but also have a grasp of huge pop choons and lovely girly harmonies, and they could be twee if they weren`t so bloody WEIRD in a totally good way, like the dizzying rush of rolling down a snow-covered hill, all pristine and sparkling in the winter sun and waking up in the middle of the night as an owl flies into your room and turns into a magical boy, aching with sex and beauty and breathless, breathless JOY"

port-royal (intentionally written with small caps and the hyphen, "-", between "port" and "royal"), as a band was born in the summer of 2000 in Genoa, Italy. They play a dreamy, heady, melancholic, wide-deep music on the border among electronica, ambient, shoegaze, minimal techno featuring several trance-dance elements: it seems they are not anymore 'Afraid To Dance'. The music is mixed live with the sensual images and shots of Diamantakos who provides the majoirity of port-royal videos as well.
Led by Jeff Jagielo, former mainman with Madison proto-shoegaze/etherealists Ivory Library, and also featuring the songwriting and guitar work of Pat Connaughty, latterday co-guitarist in Ivory Library.
