Natalia Shmarenkova (Kamaliya), wife of Kyiv Post publisher Mohammad Zahoor, is 2008 Mrs. World. She also has a singing and acting career and is excited about her upcoming role in a Hollywood movie. For someone crowned Mrs. World 2008, Natalia Shmarenkova’s demeanor is refreshingly devoid of elitism and celebrity arrogance. In Ukraine, she is more known as a pop singer under the stage name of Kamaliya. She hopes the world will know her soon as a movie actress.

Awoken began in 2003 playing heavy and fast hardcore. Working non-stop, with determination and a consistantly positive attitude, constant shows across the UK, a debut MCD on Let It Burn Records and 2 tours across Europe; including a 5 week - 30 show tour sharing the stage with Hoods, saw Awoken make their mark on European hardcore. Throughout several line up changes and a real sense of growth, powerful, cleverly structured anthems laced with groove and a sense of brutality remained the foundation of Awoken's sound.

The band originated in 2007 in Kiev in the restless mind of guitarist-vocalist Math_Max, whose experiments with digging guitar and torturing his voice reached the dimensions of a mania and needed to be shared with someone. On the score of it the first 3-piece line-up was formated soon and recording debut of Joncofy was not too long to appear. The band’s 5-song self-released demo “Li(f)e?” was a really howling success. It had tons of positive replies and reviews in local and foreign music community and became kind of the quality standard for Ukrainian alternative metal bands.
