There is more than one artist with this name: 1) German krautrock band, formed in Hamburg 1970 Faust is a German krautrock band, originally composed of Werner "Zappi" Diermaier, Hans Joachim Irmler, Arnulf Meifert, Jean-Hervé Péron, Rudolf Sosna and Gunter Wüsthoff, working with producer Uwe Nettelbeck and engineer Kurt Graupner. The group formed in Wümme in 1971 and soon began recording their debut, "Faust", which sold poorly, but established a devoted fanbase.

Beak> is the new project of Geoff Barrow (of legendary Portishead) with fellow Bristol musicians Billy Fuller and Matt Williams. Their self-titled debut will be out October 19 in the UK on Barrow's own Invada, and Ipecac will release it the next day in the U.S. In contrast to Barrows extreme perfectionism when creating Portisheads music, Beak>'s album was written in just 12 days.

Atoms for Peace

Atoms for Peace is an and supergroup formed in late 2009 in Los Angeles, California, United States. The group consists of Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke (vocals, guitars, and piano), Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea (bass guitar), longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich (keyboards, synths), Joey Waronker of Beck and R.E.M. (drums), and Brazilian instrumentalist Mauro Refosco (percussion). Their debut album, Amok, became available for streaming on February 18, 2013, and was released on February 25, 2013.

Marcus Schmickler

German composer Marcus Schmickler first came to prominence as a member of POL, the project formed by Carsten Schulz (C-Schulz) that released Transomuba (1994), that mixes field recordings, world and techno music, and Baby I Will Make You Sweat (1995), the (vastly inferior) soundtrack to a movie. Schmickler then recorded Wabi Sabi (1996), an avantgarde work of computer-generated drones that updated Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music to the digital age. Onea Gako (Odd Size, 1994) was credited to Marcus Schmickler, and it was co-arranged and produced by C-Schulz.

Neu!

There is more than one artist with the name "Neu". 1) Neu! (the German word for "new", pronounced "noy") a band from Germany, were probably the archetypal example of what the UK music press at the time dubbed krautrock. The band had minimal commercial success when active, but are credited with being a huge influence on a diverse group of artists, including The Sex Pistols, Public Image Ltd., David Bowie, Gary Numan, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Devo, Sonic Youth, Stereolab, Wilco as well as the current electronic music scene.
