Artist Type:

Blackbirds

There are at least two bands/artists with this name: 1) BLACKBIRDS is a hardcore/punk band from Michigan (although some members are from Canada). Their earlier material took cues from American Nightmare/Outbreak/97A but their new material is in the vein of His Hero Is Gone/Tragedy/etc. They are not broken up anymore and are back together with a new lineup, new releases soon, and are back touring. The hardcore band Blackbirds is not associated with blackdog records.

Artist Type:

Pyramid

There are multiple artists with this name: 1. German acid rock project. The obscure and underrated “Dawn Defender” from 1976 is constantly mysterious, abstract and experimental, delivering interlocking electronic soundscapes punctuated by electric guitar manipulations and echoing effects. The album was originally released Tony Robinson for Pyramid label. A serious “kosmische” krautrock manifestation, a perfect & strange dreamy-like musical journey throw ultra psych textures. Pretty closed to the Cosmic Jokers (first) and A.R & the machines.

Marcus Schmickler

German composer Marcus Schmickler first came to prominence as a member of POL, the project formed by Carsten Schulz (C-Schulz) that released Transomuba (1994), that mixes field recordings, world and techno music, and Baby I Will Make You Sweat (1995), the (vastly inferior) soundtrack to a movie. Schmickler then recorded Wabi Sabi (1996), an avantgarde work of computer-generated drones that updated Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music to the digital age. Onea Gako (Odd Size, 1994) was credited to Marcus Schmickler, and it was co-arranged and produced by C-Schulz.

Klinik

[1] Belgian pioneers of and -. Also known as The Klinik. See also Dive, Sonar, Monolith. In 1985, Verhaeghen joined forces with two other bands, Absolute Body Control (with Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem), and "The Maniacs" (Sandy Nys) to form one "super group" Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs. This rather unwieldy name was soon dropped in favour of the shorter name "The Klinik". Nys soon left the band to form Hybryds, followed in 1987 by van Wonterghem, leaving The Klinik as the "classic" duo of Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen.
