Luca Turilli's Rhapsody

Luca Turilli's Rhapsody is the name of the new band of the Italian composer Luca Turilli due to the friendly split between Luca Turilli and Alex Starpoli (main composers of the bands Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire). The addition of Luca's name before Rhapsody is due to the same legal reasons of the past not allowing him to use the word Rhapsody alone. The first album Ascending To Infinity would be released in late june 2012. Discography:

Rhapsody

There is more than one band by the name Rhapsody: 1) Rhapsody (now known as Rhapsody of Fire) is a band from Italy, but have been "on hold" since 2008. A new album has been announced, "The Frozen Tears of Angels", billed for release in March. They incorporate music, and styles. The classical influences include such composers as Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolò Paganini, and Antonin Dvořák. Their songs are also heavily influenced by power metal in general and their lyrics are fantasy-themed.

In Extremo

In Extremo is one of the most famous bands, originating from Berlin, Germany in 1995. The band's musical style combines heavy metal with medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard metal instruments with traditional instruments such as the bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm. Versions of well-known traditional/medieval ballads make up the main part of their repertoire, though over the years the band has also begun to write some original material using the German language.

Svartsot

Since 2005, SVARTSOT has conveyed their distinctive blend of metal and folk music with a hint of the medieval age. Besides crushing guitars, bass and drums, the music is flavoured with the tones of authentic folk instruments such as whistles, mandolins and bagpipes adding the ruthless medieval feel, and melodies that only a lobotomy can remove from the head. Inspiration for SVARTSOT’s lyrics is found in the wealth of Danish folklore and history, and the merciless growled vocals of Thor (yes that is his real name!) are therefore entirely delivered in Danish.
