Lisa Gerrard

Lisa Gerrard (born April 12, 1961) is an Irish-Australian musician, singer and composer who gained international renown as part of the music group Dead Can Dance together with Brendan Perry. Her career spans from 1981 to the present, and she has been involved in a wide range of projects. Gerrard received a Golden Globe award and her score for the 2000 film Gladiator received an Academy Award nomination. She both sings and is instrumentalist for much of her work, most prolifically using the (a Chinese hammered dulcimer).

Lacuna Coil

Lacuna Coil, formerly known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal, is a gothic metal band formed in Milan, Italy in 1994. The band consists of Cristina Scabbia (vocals), Andrea Ferro (vocals and keyboards), Cristiano Migliore (guitars), Marco Biazzi (guitars), Marco Coti Zelati (bass and keyboards), and Cristiano Mozzati (drums and percussion). In 1994 Andrea Ferro and Marco Coti Zelati formed Sleep of Right, but soon changed their name to Ethereal, and signed to Century Media at the end of 1997.

Lycanthia

Formed in the late 90s, Lycanthia are a 6 piece Gothic/Death-Doom Metal band from Sydney, Australia. Their music can be described as dark, aggressive and emotional soundscapes fused with classical and rock elements. Consisting of grim male and dual female vocals, violins, keyboards, guitars and drums, Lycanthia continues the sound found in the early "golden age" works of classic gothic doom bands Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania, My Dying Bride, and The Sins of thy Beloved, while also adding more aggressive and traditional-doom influences.

The Birthday Massacre

The Birthday Massacre is a synth rock band, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band was officially formed in 1999, known at that time as Imagica. The band consists of Chibi (vocals), Rainbow (guitars and programming), Michael Falcore (guitars), Owen (keyboards), O.E. (previously drums, now bass), and Rhim (drums). Their sound is mostly a fusion of retro electronica and dynamic contemporary songwriting. Elements of children's fiction and adult fantasy are combined with twisting distortion and euphoric melody to create a unique and original sound dubbed "post-retro".

Lesbian Bed Death

Lesbian Bed Death began life as the horrific wet nightmare of Mr Peach, who soon brought the vision to life with help from the mighty Johnny Hell. Shortly after, a magical being know as Magic Andy joined the fold. They released a 2 track promo CDR in March 2005. The line-up split in November 2005 for various reasons. Magic Andy and Mr Peach have since been very busy, and work on the debut album is complete. They have been joined by an amazing new vocalist called Luci4. She's added an awesome new dimension to the LBD sound, and the album is a killer.

An industrial/grime/club act founded in 1999 in Wichita, KS. Originally a fusion of classic industrial (sometimes called "coldwave") and grindcore metal, the band was put on extended hiatus when members left to pursue diverse artistic outlets. Having recently reactivated, the band has since evolved to a more elegant, keyboard-based ensemble, often referring to themselves as "pop music for the apocalypse."

American Head Charge

American Head Charge, the Minneapolis-based band, which had its genesis when Cameron Heacock and Chad Hanks crossed paths in a Minnesota rehab facility in 1997, has up to now been known primarily for the radically dysfunctional behavior of the band members. "We were definitely out of control on our first tour, Ozzfest 2001," Mr. Banks admits. "It wasn't enough to just play our music; we also had to fire shotguns on stage and throw pigheads at the crowd.
