Sister Sin were formed in 2002 in Gothenburg, Sweden. They are a female fronted four piece with a style reminiscent of Guns 'N Roses, L.A Guns and Hanoi Rocks. Sister Sin released various recordings via smaller indie labels. They issued their first non-indie album Switchblade Serenades via Victory Records in October 2008; it reached number 107 on Top Heatseekers in the first week of release in the US.
Lightyear were a hugely popular ska punk band who blended elements of ska, pop, hardcore, punk and occaisionally hip hop who were probably best known for their intense live shows that regulaly saw members of the band (and unfortunately crowd) getting naked. Hailing from Derby and previously split up, they reformed briefly for the summer of 2006 in which they played a whirlwind UK tour which included both the Reading and Leeds carling festivals.
The Virtues were an early American rock & roll band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Michele was spotted by MofoHifi records on MySpace who were so impressed with the 21 year old that the loving label bosses persuaded the striking 7 foot Italian with his mop of unruly hair to leave his idyllic parents country farm in Florence and move to a bed sit in Canning town. Michele armed only with a 5 year old computer, electric guitar and Ryan Air ticket dutifully relocated to London in late 2007.
