Parquet Courts

Parquet Courts is a band from New York City. At the center of the group is A. Savage, who at this point is known for his collaborations with projects like Fergus & Geronimo, Teenage Cool Kids and Wiccans. Savage is joined by three other musicians (“three quarters Texans and three quarters Pisces”) and describes the bands’ debut release as The Fall meets Neil Young. On the band’s debut release, “American Specialties”, this all makes sense. The quartet wonders through the American and British underground, picking away their favorite parts with confidence.

Desalvo

Gorgeous twee indie-pop, like squeezing out a tube of shitpaste. Long dormant Stretchheads members collide with Idlewild guitarist and actively seek the slice of Jesus Lizard with the groove of Helmet. Allegedly ending up like Jack 'O' Nuts. Signed by Mogwai for a bet to Rock Action Records of Glasgow. Expect electro remixes by Errors in return for snuff video footage of their demise. www.desalvo.co.uk www.rock-action.co.uk

White Fence

White Fence's trippy, distortion-laced, psychedelic pop-influenced tunes (sounding, in other words, something along the lines of a warped cassette tape featuring The Left Banke or The Merry-Go-Round) are the brainchild of Timothy Presley (also a member of the like-minded groups Strange Boys and Darker My Love). The project's self-titled debut was released on the Woodsist label in the spring of 2010. For the project's next release, White Fence Is Growing Faith , Presley didn't change much. The January 2011 album follows the same sometimes goofy, always trippily tuneful template of the debut.

The Jesus Lizard

The Jesus Lizard was a rock music group formed in 1989 in Chicago, Illinois. The band took their name from a common nickname for the basilisk, a type of lizard that can run on water. While never finding much mainstream success, The Jesus Lizard have been called "a leading noise rock band in the American independent underground ... (who) turned out a series of independent records filled with scathing, disembowelling, guitar-driven pseudo-industrial noise, all of which received positive reviews in underground music publications and heavy college-radio play."

Footwork

There are multiple artists with the name "Footwork", including a genre. 1)
Footwork is a local trio comprised of Taylor Wingett (Secondary), Myke Pelly (Haunted Horses), and James Scheall (Wet Paint DMM, Half Gift). Their sound is—perhaps unsurprisingly—not unlike a weird, mutant hybrid of Haunted Horses’ grand guignol and Wet Paint DMM’s singularly clanging brutality. The bass and guitar shriek, stab, and throb with the distorted angularity of German Expressionism...
