John Corigliano

John Corigliano is an American composer of classical music. The son of a violinist, studied at Columbia University, before embarking on a varied musical career. As a composer, his earlier works develop further the musical language of composers such as Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland and their contemporaries, followed by a period of wider experiment in the use of more varied musical materials. His opera The Ghosts of Versailles was staged at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1992, when it was chosen for the Composition of the Year award of the International Music Awards.

Burt Bacharach

Bacharach studied music at McGill University and the Mannes School of Music. In the 1950s and the early 1960s he was the pianist, arranger and bandleader for Marlene Dietrich with whom he toured. He teamed with lyricist Hal David and others to write many popular songs in the 1960s and 1970s. Bacharach's music has been sung by a number of popular singers including The Beatles,The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Jack Jones, Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Luther Vandross and The Drifters. He met Dionne Warwick, with whom he would form a famed collaboration.

Throwback

The group came together as a trio in 2002, when singer-songwriter Erik Lind teamed up with lead guitarist Mike Libis and drummer/percussionist Micah Shapiro at McGill University. Excited support soon spilled off campus as they kept up a regular concert schedule in and around the Montreal area. After bassist Lisa (Dee) Perusse joined in 2003, the quartet expanded their enthusiastic fan base to the United States.

First release was on the Lissy's record label under the name 'The Bugger Sod' 1995. Then in 1997 released Stop Your Nonsense on London Records. Second album Goodly Time was released on Rum Records and then the Tokyo San San San label. Also made noise under the name Ron Superior. The third album was issued in Japan only and was supposed to have been released to the rest of the world two years ago.

Irmin Schmidt

Irmin Schmidt (born May 29, 1937) is a keyboard player, producer and composer probably best known as a member of Can. Schmidt received a formal musical education and between 1957 and 1967 he studied under modern composers Karlheinz Stockhausen and Györgi Ligeti. Between 1962 and 1969 he conducted numerous orchestras including Wiener Sinfoniker, Bochumer Sinfoniker, Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester Norddeutscher Rundfunk Hannover and the Dortmunder Ensemble für Neue Musik, which he founded.

Subvision

There are two bands with the name Subvision: First, SubVision was formed in 1999 by Australian film composer Braedy Neal, who provided cutting-edge music for Farscape, The Crash Zone, and Dreamtime to Dance. Subvision was soon joined by film and TV composer Chris Neal, and radio DJ Toby Neal, to become a total composing service using state-of-the-art technology. They have produced numerous dramatic underscores for feature films, television drama, documentary, television commercials and corporate productions.
