Barzin

Barzin is a Canadian singer-songwriter named Barzin Hosseini. Slow and melancholic, introspective and confessional: These words in some ways describe the sound of Barzin. A project that began sometime in 1995, Barzin was a solo endeavor at its inception. But somewhere along the way it shed its solitary skin allowing a wide array of characters into it’s sound. From amongst a rotating cast of musicians, who occasionally made appearances on recordings and at performances, three individuals slowly became a fixture of this project.

Tissue Culture

Tissue Culture are a seriously noisy bunch of young lions from Newcastle. They haven’t been around a long time, but they’ve already built up an impressive TishCult following. What’s more exciting is that they seem to be getting better with each deafening, thrilling live show. Their first release on Tiny Lights, Saint Waleric was released on October 29th 2012, and celebrated with an awesome party at The Cluny 2 on Halloween. SmithBellHendazPottaReed

The Bee's Knees

Soulful, gritty and twangy, with sweet harmonies and a hard to contain lead guitarist, the Bee’s Knees are in a world of their own. Taking leads from classical country, '60s pop and psychodelia and the country rock movements of the '70s and '90s, the Bee’s Knees have fashioned a unique Americana infused pop sound that is quite their own.

Their “No Body EP” explores a combination of deep south bass music and ambient pop melodies, with R&B tinged vocals that accompany warm arpeggiated synthesizers. Inca Gold

www.incagoldmusic.com Inca Gold are a London based 4-piece. Self-recorded, mixed and produced - their sound is defined by experimentation in the studio. Like Flying Saucer Attack and Deerhunter before them, they offer a bold and unique take on dream-like psychedelia. Merging the tribal grooves of Gang Gang Dance, the guitar noise of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the clinical electronics of Portishead, all filtered through the bands strong pop aesthetic.

Haunter

Haunter's songs are built on constant, flooding noise and vocal melodies that swoop underneath and on top of it. Dubbed everything from "medium rock" to "noise rock," Haunter remains unaffected by stereotypes and continues to welcome a diverse and appreciative local following. With influences running the gamut from My Bloody Valentine and Pavement to Bruce Springsteen and the Replacements, Haunter's live incarnation is best described as loud, gritty and melodic. Their sets are filled with youthful, nervous energy, with songs that carry lazy sarcasm one moment and sincere yearning the next.
