Bored Spies

Inspired by the likes of Brian Eno, the band mix traditional song structures with progressive rock elements, exploring the space between pop and abstract minimalism. Formed in early 2012, the international trio are currently based in Singapore, Seoul and Arizona with a line up featuring Singaporean singer/guitarist Cherie Ko (Obedient Wives Club, Pastelpower) on vocals, and Orestes Morfin (Bitch Magnet) and Panther Lau (Seam).

Laboratory Noise

Laboratory Noise formed in the winter of 2005, band members are based in the cities of Leeds, Bradford and Manchester. Taking influences from psychedelia, shoegaze, electronica and post-rock, they aim to create multi-layered effect driven soundscapes, underpinned by strong melodies. The band is: Paul McNulty (guitars & vocals), Paul Griffin (guitars), Ben Cleverley (guitars), Adam Watson (synths), Andy Ramsden (drums & vocals), Dom Sheard (bass) & Kerry Ramsay (vocals & percussion).

Engineers

Engineers are not like any other band. Onstage Simon Phipps is the singer, Dan Macbean is the guitarist, Mark Peters is the bassist and Sweeney is the drummer, but the real clue is in their name: they approach their music like engineers, carefully constructing wonderful walls of sound. Following the rapturous reception that greeted their mini-album Folly in 2004 and debut Engineers the following year, it’s taken them a long time to build the epic that is Three Fact Fader.

Seefeel

Seefeel formed in 1992, when guitarist Mark Clifford and drummer Justin Fletcher met vocalist Sarah Peacock and bassist Darren Seymour. They released their first EPs on the Too Pure label in 1993. Stylistically situated at the intersection of dream pop/shoegaze and ambient electronic/IDM, their music has a distinctive sound. This might have contributed to the band getting a contract with the seminal electronic label Warp Records in 1994.
