Akron
There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Akron is an Italian progressive rock band formed by EnioNicolini, bassist of The Black. They released two albums: "La signora del buio" in 1999 and "Il tempio di ferro" in 2003. 2) Akron is an electro-industrial band from Greece.
Toto
Toto is a Grammy Award winning american rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1977 by David Paich, Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, brothers Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro, and David Hungate. The band members had met in high school and at studio sessions in the 1970s, when they became some of the busiest session musicians in the music business. Composed entirely of seasoned studio musicians, Toto seemed to come out of nowhere. They did not get known first on the club circuit as nearly all bands do prior to being signed by a label.

Nephwrack
Nephwrack were formed in late 2001, consisting of a line-up from which only guitarist Ed Simmonds remains today. This band, which for a time included guitarist David Stanton (of Season's End) and Paul White (now with Nya), toured extensively and released two demo CDs, and ultimately an EP in 2004.
After a hiatus in 2004/05, 2006 saw the band return with a new line-up featuring Ed's songwriting partner from various other projects, Keir Cleland, on bass and powerhouse drummer Joe Butterworth (now with Interlock).
Stumble
Stumble is an Astral Pedestrian project an exploration of songwriting roots. The first album 'Whirlpool' contains songs written in the late 80's as well as new material. The sound is in the region of Klaus Dinger, Sonic Youth, Shoegaze and has also been likened to Jesus & Mary Chain, and Julian Cope. There is also another more recent Stumble, hailing from Derby UK, around the end of the 90s. Stumble disbanded and two of the former members have eventually become LostAlone. This Stumble play more aggressive indie/emo rock music, lo-fi with catchy chorus lines.

Jakob
Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock band, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of guitarist Jeff Boyle; bassist Maurice Beckett; and drummer Jason Johnston. They have been compared to such bands as Mogwai, Sonic Youth, and High Dependency Unit, though they largely eschew any vocals or samples in their songs. The band formed in July 1998, and began by opening for New Zealand bands Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black at the local pub O'Flaherty's.

Cortex
Four (or more) artists have gone by the name Cortex: a French jazz-funk group from the 70s, a Swedish punk band, a Spanish metalcore band and a experimental Belgian project by Alain Neffe. 1. A French jazz funk group from the seventies.
Key members were Alain Mion (Piano) and Alain Gandolfi (drums, percussion). Cortex recorded several albums and singles for the Sonodisc label. 2 albums got re-issued: 'Troupeau Bleu' (on 'Dare-Dare') and 'Volume 2' (on 'Follow Me'). 2. A Swedish punk or post-punk band from Gothenburg.
