Born of a proud lineage of convicts, bushrangers, stowaways and scoundrels THE CURRENCY form a six-piece orchestra parading traditional folk instruments alongside a firecracker punk rhythm section. Fiddle, mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar play a mix of jigs, sea shanties, oz rock and punk anthems that keep the crowd dancing like wild dingoes.

Koalacaust is a band that started in Santa Monica, CA as three best friends, and since then expanded into a five-piece. Their music is composed of accordion, bass, acoustic guitar, drums, and the occasional mandolin or melodica. They have played local shows with the likes of Paul Baribeau, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Broadway Calls, and Mischief Brew. Recently relocating to the San Francisco/Santa Cruz Area, they are unsigned and continue to make music together.

It is a wicked concoction by Erik Petersen – a musical feast falling somewhere between the categories of pirate punk, Celtic folk, gypsy swing, devilish jazz, American olde-tyme and country. It’s good music to stomp, kick, pogo, jitterbug, waltz, drink, twist and shout to – whether the performance is solo acoustic or with a backing band of accordion, drums, and mandolin.
