Cernunnos

There are two bands (at least) called "Cernunnos": 1. The word Cernunnos! refers to "the Horned God", "the Horned One," or even "the Stag King." When this musical idea was conceived in 1996, this definition may have been enough. And why not? This name seems appropriate enough for folk metal music with a dark side, as the earliest recordings attest. As the years passed, and the music and ideas in Cernunnos! changed, this word came to mean other things.

Artist Type:

Austere

There are multiple artists with this name: 1.) Australian Black Metal with two full length albums: Withering Illusions and Desolation and To Lay Like Old Ashes. They have also released two splits, one with the German, Isolation, and one with Lyrinx from the United Kingdom: http://www.myspace.com/bandaustere 2.) Austere is an ambient-electronic group based in Portland, Oregon. It is unknown who they are, because the group thinks that the music is the important matter and not who is behind it. They have been releasing music since 1998 and are distributed by Hypnos Online: http://austere.org/

Artist Type:

Bethlehem

Bethlehem is a band from Grevenbroich, Germany, formed in 1991 by Jürgen Bartsch and Kläus Matton. Before begetting Bethlehem, Bartsch and Matton used to play in a German Thrash metal band called Morbid Vision. Much of the themes in their lyrics revolve around sickness, morbidity, suicide, death and madness that may to some extent be personal to the band, though they are very difficult to understand even for German speakers because they make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

In their day job as label managers, Stadsgaard and Rahbek have been instrumental in establishing the city’s prolific and exciting noise / punk community and outgrowing their humble beginnings in noise / industrial culture by attracting a cult / fanatical worldwide following of obsessive record hoarders, hipster bloggers, depressive punks and industrial maniacs.
