It has been pushed underground for decades by the media because it speaks of the truth and exposes hypocrisy, but with the political climate of the world rapidly changing, a new female oriented punk resurgence has created a movement across the globe from Russia with Pussy Riot to countless others. One band in particular is shaking things up with intense live shows and are about to release their debut album.
Citizen Keyne
Citizen Keyne are a 5 piece punk band from Milton Keynes. After an advert in the local newspaper "The Citizen" we got together because of a love of fast aggressive music with something to say and a mutual detest for the drivel that is dominating the airwaves at the moment. In the true spirit of 1977 we decided to pick up the instruments and have a go, after all theres no point moaning about something if you ain't got the balls to try and make a difference. So Citizen Keyne were born.
The Eccentrics
Formed in November 2000, and had their first gig 8 days later supporting The Vibrators. Previous members include Trotsky (of the Subhumans), and Sandra (from Korrupt). Still unsigned, though have toured the USA and played in Europe - very DIY, releasing their own CD's and DVD's. They are a throwback to old school punk, with a hint of garage punk and ska in there for good measure.
Pop Fosters
Pop Fosters are Sara Askew (Drums, backing vox) and Richie Day (Guitar, leading vox). They are a garage punk rock duo from Wakefield, UK.
Hedoniacs
Rock n Roll and Blues and Punk had a dirty orgy. Out of that, a kid called HEDONIACS was born... unsure who his parents are, but not really bothered... he just wants to have fun and maybe understand a bit of this nutty world along the way. "We wanna be the best, we don't compromise, we have fun, we don't bullshit and we don't give a fuck." - HEDONIACS "The songs are about my people. Our lives, our thoughts and our stories. Normal people who do abnormal things." - Lewie
