Mika Miko is an underground punk/noise band formed in 2003 in Los Angeles, California, U.S. Mika Miko has made a name for themselves by being truly on their own program. This 5 piece punk band will defend the term with all their power because they are just that, an amazing punk band, both in spirit and attitude. Pounding their way through interesting, fast pop songs that leave you wondering how they pull the steam all the way through.

Joan Jett

Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1958 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania) is an American rock singer and guitarist. She was the guitarist for the rock group The Runaways from 1975 to 1979, after which she released two solo albums - 1980's "Joan Jett" and 1981's "Bad Reputation" - before forming her own group, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. "The Hit List" (1990), a covers album recorded by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, was labeled as being by Jett alone.

Choking Susan

Hailing from the stench filled slums of Detroit's motor city, female fronted punk band choking susan has lots to complain about. In Singer and front woman Colleen Caffienes own words: "Just like a 50 year old hooker, choking susan has had plenty of members in and out but we've kept ourselves raw and inspiring!" Choking susan are a 4 piece band, whose drummer seems to be new every month or so. Choking susan have played all over the USA, Canada and soon to hit the UK in August of 2007. Colleen isn't a huge fan of labels, but excepts the "punk' tag for the band.

Gertrude

Gertrude are an all- female post-punk band based in London. They started in 2006 when members Ayesha and Iona met in a large communal house in the East End of London. They began as a reaction to Brit-pop blandness and a perceived lack of female role-models in the London punk scene. Gertrude are a DIY band and have organised their own tours in Europe, Canada and the US. They have played at Ladyfests in a number of different countrys including the UK. They are influenced by the DIY punk- ethos, riot-grrrl and jazzy and inventive strands of post-punk.

Nina Hagen

Catharina Hagen (born on March 11, 1955) is a singer from East Berlin, Germany. She's a daughter of well-known East German actress Eva-Maria Hagen and writer Hans Oliva-Hagen. They divorced 5 years later due to the rising success of Eva-Maria (called "East Germany's Brigitte Bardot") as an actress on stage and in films. When Catharina (Nina) was 10 years old Eva-Maria had a partnership with dissident song-writer Wolf Biermann (see links at the end).
