Crime & the City Solution

Crime & the City Solution were a rock group headed by Australian singer/songwriter Simon Bonney and active between the years of 1977-1991. Despite roots dating back as far as 1978, Crime & the City Solution did not truly emerge until 1984, coming to life in the wake of the dissolution of the seminal Birthday Party. Crime & the City Solution had many members over the years, which can be divided into four distinct line-ups: Sydney in 1977-78, Melbourne in 1979, and two groupings in Berlin. The only common member in all four line-ups was Bonney.

Bad Veins

Bad Veins is an indie rock duo from Cincinnati, Ohio, composed of Benjamin Davis and Sebastien Schultz. The band released their debut self-titled album on Dangerbird Records. Davis primarily writes the music, plays guitar and keyboard, and sings, while also recording backtracking music on a reel-to-reel tape player, nicknamed Irene. Schultz plays the drums. Davis also uses a megaphone and telephone to sing into, producing an unique sound.

Jake Shillingford

Jake Shillingford is a British singer/songwriter who is best known as the lead vocalist and chief songwriter of the spectacular My Life Story, who were for a time considered part of the mid-90s Britpop phenomenon. Jake released his first solo album, "Written Large" on 13th December 2007. Jake also runs his own DIY record label, Exilophone records on which his new album is released, and following the initial breakup of My Life Story also found some success as the brains behind Exile Inside.

Liam Singer

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Liam Singer studied piano as a child, and at 14 began recording songs on the accordion, synthesizer and theremin. In the early 2000s, Singer studied music composition at Kenyon College in Ohio, with harpsichord as his primary instrument. During his time at Kenyon he played in several bands and co-founded a 20-piece kazoo orchestra. Returning to Portland after college, Singer recorded his first album, The Empty Heart of the Chameleon, and played keyboards for The Scientifics (now Eliot Rose) and Nate Ashley.

Andrew Morgan

Andrew Morgan's eponymous sophomore album picks up where dreaming debut "Misadventures in Radiology" leaves off. The second installment in the Kansas City-born songwriter's "Exile Trilogy," "Andrew Morgan" evokes cornerstone chamber pop albums like The Zombies' "Odessey & Oracle" and Badly Drawn Boy's "The Hour of the Bewilderbeast," yet bears a scope of arrangement and diversity of instrumentation all its own.

The Society Islands

The Society Islands is the musical project of Cologne, Germany-based composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Boris Rogowski. The Society Islands were founded in 2006, shortly before the release of their debut album "Kiss & Tell" (until then Rogowski had already recorded a dozen of albums and EPs under the moniker M.D. which may or may not be released at a later point in time). The music of The Society Islands oscillates between Neo-Folk, chamber music and Indie Rock and is further characterized by stylistic shifts and ominous undertones.

Rasputina

Rasputina is a "" ensemble composed of singer/cellist Melora Creager, and various, frequently changing band members. The current lineup includes Creager (cello), Daniel Dejesus (cello), and Dawn Miceli (drums). Founded by Creager in 1992, they have long held true to their mission of enlightening the common man as to the power and versatility of the mighty cello. Historically influenced, and constantly costumed, Rasputina keeps a small legion of incredibly passionate admirers enthralled with their earnest musicianship.

My Life Story

My Life Story were a 1990s pop group regarded as part of the britpop movement. Fronted by singer/songwriter Jake Shillingford, the group was formed in London c.1991 and inherited the name from an earlier group in which Shillingford had appeared. A cross between a pop group and a chamber orchestra, the band's sound was heavily oriented toward orchestral instruments. At the time of their debut single, Girl A, Girl B, Boy C (1994), the group had a regular line-up of twelve members.

Jim O'Rourke

American indie rock and avant-garde musician, composer and producer Jim O'Rourke has been a key component in the increasing overlap of the American and European music , working in everything from and to and and building many a bridge in between. A Chicago native, his work has found equal luck with experimental jazz and fanatics, room denizens, and bedroom experimentalists, and has had the resultant effect of cross-pollinating many otherwise isolated compositional communities.
