Supreme Dicks

Underground avant-garde alternative rock band of the 1980s and 1990s. Originally based in Amherst, Massachusetts at Hampshire College, and at times also based in New York City, Seattle and Los Angeles. Arose in the same college musical scene that gave birth to Dinosaur Jr and also associated with the early grunge movement, especially the Seattle grunge bands including Nirvana. Known for four albums, very noisy concerts and band members' disputatious and disruptive attitude.

Koby Israelite

Israeli-born Koby Israelite, now based in London, is a highly gifted and versatile multi-instrumentalist.
He studied piano at the Tel Aviv conservatoire from the age of nine, and became interested in playing percussion at fourteen, at first playing on a make-shift kit of old drums and a broken cymbal. He started playing with local bands at school, playing punk covers with Hebrew lyrics. At seventeen, Israelite started studying drums with "The David Rich Drumming School" in Tel Aviv, studying for a full two years.

Antoine Beuger

Antoine Beuger (b. 1955 in Oosterhout, Netherlands) studied composition with Ton de Leeuw at Sweelinck Coservatorium in Amsterdam 1973-78.
In 1990 he began composing after an interruption of about 10 years. Two years later he founded Edition Wandelweiser together with composer/performer Burkhard Schlothauer.
Since 1994 he's been active with the conception and organisation of KLANGRAUM, a concert series at Kunstraum Düsseldorf. During the years 1995-2001 he was working together with visual artist Mauser as artistic director of "Werkraum", Place for Interdisciplinary Artistic Events, Cologne.

Helmut Lachenmann

Lachenmann was born in Stuttgart. He studied piano with Jürgen Uhde and composition and theory with Johann Nepomuk David at the Stuttgarter Musikhochschule from 1955 to 1958 and was the first private student of Luigi Nono in Venice from 1958 to 1960. From Nono, he acquired the belief that music should aim to serve a message of social relevance. He also worked briefly at the electronic music studio at the University of Ghent in 1965, but thereafter focused almost exclusively on purely instrumental music.

The Extinguishers

The Extinguishers are a bunch of fucking handsome pimps who'll crash yer town, neck yer pint and go home with your girlfriend, but they'll rock you so hard you won't have time to think, let alone care. What they lack in cleanliness and manner they more than make up for in talent, good looks and sheer charisma. Their unique Ska/Punk/Hardcore mix just has to be heard to be believed. They started in 2003, and spent 2 years in isolation perfecting their skills, finally unleashing the behemoth that is The Extinguishers on the 30th April 2005...

RED trio

Formed by three musicians from the new improvised music Lisbon scene, RED trio features Rodrigo Pinheiro at the piano, Hernâni Faustino at the doublebass and Gabriel Ferrandini at the drums. The trio was formed in 2007 as a response to a challenge posed by Hernâni Faustino. RED Trio explores one of the most prolific jazz formations: piano/doublebass/drums. The trio's music is characterized for being fast, energic, highly focused, dynamic and sometimes nervous and violent. Most of RED trio influences are based on jazz and especially on improvised music.

Mostly Other People Do The Killing

Mostly Other People Do the Killing is a quartet founded on the idea that not only is Jazz still alive and vibrant, but it can and should be fun, engaging and thoroughly contemporary. Rather than settling into one style or historical period, MOPDTK fuses the entire spectrum of Jazz and the various forms of improvised music it has spawned into a single, seamless melange of Uber-Jass. Each of the four members of MOPDTK is a product of the institutional Jazz Education system with additional influences immediately recognizable.

Hild Sofie Tafjord

Hild Sofie Tafjord has been known to the public for over a decade as part of projects like SPUNK, Fe-Mail (her duo with Maja Ratkje), Agrare (Fe-Mail with dancer Lotta Melin), Trinacria (Fe-Mail with black metallers Enslaved) and collaborations with Birchville Cat Motel, Wolf Eyes, Matmos, Ikue Mori, Otomo Yoshihide, Carlos Giffoni, Zeena Parkins, Fred Frith and countless others. She has released albums on labels like Asphodel, Rune Grammofon, ECM and Gameboy Records.
