Valhalla

There are many bands under the name of Valhalla, 10 of them are metal. 1) The best known Valhalla hails from Petrozavodsk, Rusland and has released one album under the name of "Hail To The Fallen Majesty" in 2003. 2) There is another Valhalla originating from Bedfordshire in England from 1979 playing progressive metal. They had two national single releases on the NEAT records label, "Coming Home" and the double A sides of "Jack" and "Still in Love with You" together with tracks on the compilation album sponsored by the popular music paper SOUNDS.

The Extremes

The Extremes were Simon Baughen and Jerome Clough, right of picture. Primarily a recording band, they released: 'Eat My Dust' 45 (Liquid/Salome) in 1987; 'Car Crash Music' 12" (Violent Hour/Explode/PS/Salome/Valentine's Day)in 1988. 'Save me from the sun' appeared in 1989 as the B side to 'Scratch that Lightning', a 45 by Simon Baughen and the Extremists. Chris and Justine, left of picture, augmented the band for their debut gig, the infamous Rock Garden gig in May 1988.

Vanadium

Hailing from Milan, the five-piece Vanadium were one of Italy's first successful heavy metal bands, releasing a string of quite popular LPs throughout the early '80s before being outpaced by a quickly evolving national scene as the decade wore on. In fact, the second half of their career saw a creatively weakened Vanadium rudely subjected to both ridicule and scorn by the next generation of Italian heavy metal bands, most of whom failed to realize the older band's hokey stage banter and...

Starfighters

Starfighters are a hard rock/heavy metal band from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement founded in Birmingham, England in 1979. They attracted a strong British cult following but were not able to translate this into any lasting success. Career: Initially called Savage, they changed their name to Starfighters and released the single "I'm Falling" on independent label, Motor City Rhythm Records.

Two Time Polka

Two Time Polka formed in Cork in 1994 and have developed a distinctive sound that has its roots in Cajun, Zydeco, and Bluegrass music. They have built up an enviable reputation for turning out excellent live shows, including numerous performances at Irish festivals such as The Kilkenny Country Roots, The Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures, The Cork Jazz Festival, The Galway Arts Festival, The Waterford Spraoi, The Cork Folk Festival to name but a few.

Concrete Blonde

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.

Hells Belles

1) HellsBelles was a British heavy metal band formed in England in 1984 at the latter stages of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). The band, now reformed by original member Paul Quigley as HellsBelles, originally released one LP in 1986 on the Raw Power label of Castle Communications "Hell's Belles", one 12" single 'Barricades' also in 1986 on the Raw Power label and various tracks released throughout the 1990s on various rock compilation albums, tracks such as "Long Legs", "If It Don't Make Your Ears Bleed...

Deranged

There are at least 3 bands using the name Deranged. 1) Deranged, one of the few Swedish death metal bands that came out during the early nineties, that have done their own kind of no remorse showing, intense and truly brutal death metal. No matter what other bands around were and are doing, you can be sure that Deranged will always deliver the most brutal and violent death metal man can create!

Frente!

Frente! was an Australian alternative pop/rock group, formed in 1991. The lineup featured singer Angie Hart, founder and guitarist Simon Austin, bassist Tim O'Connor (later replaced by Bill McDonald), and drummer Mark Picton (later replaced by Alastair Barden). Frente! burst onto the Australian music charts with the singles "Ordinary Angels" and "Accidently Kelly Street" in 1992. Frente!'s debut album, Marvin the Album was also a success, going platinum in Australia.
