Marie, nicknamed Lady T, is a protegée of late funk legend Rick James, and is notable as one of the few successful multi-ethnic performers of R&B. She sings R&B with big, robust vocals, and plays rhythm guitar, keyboards and congas. She also has written, produced, sung and arranged virtually all of her songs since her 1980 release Irons in the Fire. She has quoted this as being her favorite album.

Spandau Ballet are a popular British band most prominent during the 1980s. Members are Tony Hadley on vocals, brothers Gary Kemp and Martin Kemp on guitar and bass respectively, with Gary also supplying background vocals, Steve Norman on saxophone and John Keeble on the drums. Gary Kemp also wrote most of the group's music and lyrics. Initially formed in 1976 in London they didn't reach a stable line-up or decide on the Spandau name until 1978.
The Cult are an English rock band which gained a dedicated following in their native Britain with mid-'80s singles like She Sells Sanctuary before breaking into the American metal market in the late '80s with Love Removal Machine. The band fuses a "heavy metal revivalist" sound with the "pseudo-mysticism...of The Doors, the guitar-orchestrations of Led Zeppelin, and the three-chord crunch of AC/DC, while adding touches of post-punk goth rock".
Ian Moss first came to attention as the guitarist for Australian rock legends Cold Chisel. After they split up in 1983, Jimmy Barnes jumped into a successful solo career, but Moss laid low, only forming the Ian Moss Band in 1986. After spending nine months in L.A. sorting through song demos, he eventually co-wrote "Tucker's Daughter" with former Cold Chisel bandmember Don Walker. The song went to number one in Australia in March 1989 and his debut album, Matchbook, was released in September. It also went to number one and sold over 210,000 copies.
Michael Henderson (July 7, 1951-present) is a bassist and vocalist best known for his work with Miles Davis in the early 1970s, providing a deep funky groove to early fusion albums such as A Tribute to Jack Johnson, Pangaea (album), and Live-Evil. He was the only musician to play with Miles in both phases of his electric period, starting in 1970 at the age of 18 and continuing until Miles's semi-retirement in 1976.
John Mellencamp (born 7 October 1951 in Seymour, Indiana) is an American singer-songwriter, known for a long and successful recording and performing career highlighted by a series of 1980s hits, including "Jack and Diane", and by his role in the Farm Aid charity event. Mellencamp currently lives in Bloomington, Indiana. John's first record released was under the stage name "Johnny Cougar" at the behest of Tony DeFries, his first manager.
