Fuzzy Lights

Formed in Cambridge in 2004, Fuzzy Lights create haunted, visceral music that pulls and tugs at its moorings. As well as touring the UK as guests of Young God Record’s Mi & L’au, they have shared the stage with Jack Rose, Vetiver and MV&EE amongst others. Hard to pigeonhole as they combine both folk purity and psychedelic guitar noise with echoes of more traditional blues/Americana, their reverb-soaked, semi-improvised music is now collected on their debut album ‘A Distant Voice’ (released November 24th).

Diamond Catalog

Diamond Catalog is a duo of Lala Conchita and Pat Maherr (Indignant Senility, Expressway Yo-Yo Dieting), whose debut LP 'Magnified Palette' was released by NNA Tapes in 2011. From NNA Tapes: "...the definitive statement of Diamond Catalog’s concoction of cross-bred dance music and mutated, swirling noise bricolage. “Magnified Palette” seems to exist in five dimensions of sound, with factory-booming beats creating a mechanical-yet-organic framework for devious sonic chatter to wind its way through.

Lory D

Lorenzo D'Angelo, better known as Lory D is a name you will find missing from the list of celebrated dark techno producers, e.g. Jeff Mills, The Mover, Lenny Dee and the Aphex Twin, although his music is as essential. He is an ex-Italian D.M.C. champion who has been playing since 1989 and owns the seminal Roman techno label Sounds Never Seen. He was one of the first people to bring the Acid House and Hardcore sounds of London to Rome, where he is regarded as something of a god.

Stars of the Lid

Stars of the Lid are a band specializing in -based music. They list among their influences minimalist and electronic composers such as Arvo Pärt, Zbigniew Preisner, Gavin Bryars, and Henryk Górecki, as well as Talk Talk (both bands have tracks named "Taphead"), post-rock artists Labradford, and ambient innovator Brian Eno. Their music largely consists of beatless soundscapes, composed of droning, effects-treated guitars along with piano, strings, and horns; volume swells and feedback fill the gap of rhythmic instruments, providing dynamic movement within the songs.
