Ilham al Madfai (Arabic: ????? ???????) is an Iraqi guitarist, singer, and composer. His musical talent began to develop seriously when he was twelve years old. He started as, and still is, a guitarist at heart. His musical career formally started when he formed his first band, the Twisters, in the 1960s. They were the first band in Iraq, and probably the Arab world, that used modern instruments to play Arabic music (guitar, drums, bass, & piano).

Introduction
Like many lands riven by conflict, Afghanistan and its vexed politics have spawned diaspora communities near and far.
Music is the lifeblood of such communities, linking them to a common homeland through song, poetry, and a sense of tradition.
Homayun Sakhi, formerly of Kabul, later a refugee in Peshawar, Pakistan, and presently a resident of California, is possibly the finest rubab player of his generation.

Electro. Dance. Math. Rock. We are electrodancemathrock. Three-piece music makers from Brighton. We make electronic math rock that you can dance to. Music is a primal instinct that resides within us all. It liberates us and it unites us. It is not conformity. It is not competition. It is not an outlet for repressed vitriol and it is not elitist beard-stroking observationism of conveyor belt culture. It is one of the greatest things we have.
Yair Dalal (born 1955) is a composer, violinist and oud player and is probably the most prolific Israeli ethnic musician today, with global recognition (WOMAD appearances from Seattle to Sydney).
Over the last decade he has put nine albums, covering wide and varied cultural territory. Much of Dalal's output reflects the strong affinity he has for the desert and its habitants. Dalal's family came to Israel from Baghdad and he has included much Iraqi material in his work to date.
