Breakneck Static

Breakneck Static formed in 2004 from the ashes of Southend indie rock band, Calico, when guitarist Adrian Lane met singer Machiko Kimura, who had recently moved to London from Tokyo. Influenced by the Japanese noise scene (bands such as Zeni Geva, Yona Kit, Melt Banana), the original line-up was completed by Adrian's sister Debbie Lane on drums, Matt Elmes on bass and James Beighton on guitar. Jaks

There’s a big difference between nostalgia and education. Jaks was not a band to look back, to be sentimental or bitch about the good ol’ days. Theirs was a sound savage and full of foreboding doom—gothic punk rock, unruly, sharp-toothed. It was heavy and nasty and made you think of bands like The Birthday Party, Nation of Ulysses and Antioch Arrow. So, a collection of their work is education—rather than a tribute. It’s education because all your favorite bands suck dick and you need to know what it was like back when this crazy fucking band stalked the Earth.

Tropic of Cancer

Camella Lobo & Juan Mendez, a.k.a. Silent Servant.
Drenched in romanticism and soaked in themes of solitude, mortality and love,
Tropic of Cancer's music forms a strangely hypnotic connection with its listener.
Camella Lobo's majestic vocals, warmly cradled by waves of ascending synths,

decadence and delicate beauty.
