Frank N Dank

When you’re the protégés of arguably the most sought after hip hop producer not named Pharrell or Kanye (read: Jay Dilla) the stakes is high. Over the last four years, global rap enthusiasts have reached orgasm via Detroit-bred Frank and Dank 12” singles. That’s not debatable. But what’s their formula? Yep, there’s a reason their “Take Dem Clothes Off” (ABB) single generated international DJ and chart accolades without a video or CD release.

Choking Susan

Hailing from the stench filled slums of Detroit's motor city, female fronted punk band choking susan has lots to complain about. In Singer and front woman Colleen Caffienes own words: "Just like a 50 year old hooker, choking susan has had plenty of members in and out but we've kept ourselves raw and inspiring!" Choking susan are a 4 piece band, whose drummer seems to be new every month or so. Choking susan have played all over the USA, Canada and soon to hit the UK in August of 2007. Colleen isn't a huge fan of labels, but excepts the "punk' tag for the band.

Dave Angel

Born in Chelsea, the son of a Jazz musician, Dave Angel’s first musical instrument (appropriately) was a drum at the noisy age of eight.
Not one for conforming, even at the early age, Angel spent little time in school, preferring truancy to chemistry and the music room to the classroom. 1988 and the explosion of acid house in London and the rest of the country seemed to be the major break for Angel, who at the time was pioneering this unbelievable new sound on radio Phaze One.

Deastro

Randolph Chabot Jr. started to make electronic music when he was 13 at his home in Sterling Heights, MI. He finished his first album that year despite the ecstatic, aural trauma it caused his mother. He studied youth development in college with the intent of becoming a social worker, dropping out to pursue music full time. He formed an electro band called Veleciraptor, which inspired the ideas for his current synthesized projects: Our Brother The Megazord and Deastro, which try to blur the lines between electronic and acoustic music.
