The Generators
Information
You have maybe heard of the band from Los Angeles The Generators, you might have even seen one their records in a record store, or maybe you have seen someone wearing one of their T - shirts. With all that said they still might be a mystery to you, but that’s all right, and that’s why we are here to fill in the gaps for you on the band that has been named by America's leading news publication, the US News as " The most underrated punk band in America".
Virgin Passages
The world has seemingly been besieged by bearded bands in the past year - but most of those kids treading on their fifth style of music wear it like a badge and far from an integral part of their work. When you hear Virgin Passages and their folkish strum intersecting with psychedelic experimentation and swirl of boy/girl harmonies and chanted refrains, you just know what they will look like. The men (and they will be men – no boys making music with this many layers) will have beards almost by default.
Wardruna
Wardruna is a Norwegian musical constellation set out to explore and evoke the depths of heathen Germanic wisdom and spirituality. Musically Wardruna has its main focus on the cultic musical language found in the near-forgotten arts of galdr, seidr and the daily acts of the cultic life, mixed with impulses from Scandinavian and Nordic folk music. They formed in 2003 in Bergen, Norway. The album entitled ‘Gap var Ginnunga’ is the first in a planned trilogy that will interpret the runes of the Elder Futhark.
Infinite Livez
Infinite Livez, MC, ex-Bethnal Green, now Berlin-based.
The enigmatic Infinite Livez truly is at the extreme, taking existentialist hip-hop to a whole new level of, er, existence! He has released a solo album on Big Dada in 2004, and 2 subsequent collaborative releases with Swiss minimal-electro-jazz group Stade, as well as numerous side-projects and experiments. * Infinite Livez vs Stade: "Art Brut for da Yoot" (2006)
* Infinite Livez vs Stade: "Morgan Freeman's Psychedelic Semen" (2008)
**NEW LIVE ALBUM OUT: 12 March 2009
Brat Pack
Hailing from the eastern part of The Netherlands comes a band that you would expect from the western and sunny side of California. The band started in 2006 and not long after, they recorded a demo which put them on the map in Holland. With ex and current members of Beans, Citizens Patrol and Frightening Fiction they have a wide variety of musicians in the band and that
The Revellions
The Revellions were forged amidst a haze of frustration and red neon lights in the early days of 2006. Originally a surf instrumental band, they changed their line-up and hit the Dublin music scene with all the vigour of a garage band in heat. Since then they have played to the loving patrons of London's most prestigious garage club The Dirty Water Club, Eyes Wide Open @ Glasgow Barfly, Derry's Beatnik Soul and Louie Louie in Gijon (Spain). They have also played with some bigger name bands such as The Sultans Of Ping, the knights of the new crusade and Graham Day And The Gaolers.
