breakcore

project serendipity

The starting point was naïvely experimenting with old guitar pedals. Pulling the power out and sampling the noise, plugging the output back into the input and listening to my pedals scream.
A teenage love of all things Crackle, Zip and Bleep. Pretty quickly I found out about computers, and their boisterous potential. That was eight years ago, since then I've had material released by Crazy Fungus Records (US), Dance Like No Ones Watching (UK), Quiet Design (US) and Hollow Soul Records (UK).

Artist Type:

DJ Rum

DJ Rum is a noobie-teenager who produces music using his computer and puts it all together to form electronic music which can range from breakcore to drum'n'bass, hardcore to gabber, and can also be categorized as somewhere in the "IDM" genre. He's from Modesto and he is currently living there producing beats in his free-time, for fun.

Artist Type:

The Teknoist

The Teknoist's first release went straight to the hardcore legendary label Deathchant, and things have stayed quite high profile for this British producer, with releases on Planet Mu, Peace Off, Cock Rock Disco and others. A very sought after performer.. The Teknoist has impressed with his ability to combine the pummelling rhythms of hardcore with the details of drum'n'bass and breakcore, the whole thing enriched with some metal spice.

Artist Type:

Dokkebi Q

Dokkebi Q are an electro dub punk group formed at the later end of 2006 by visual artist and voice performer Kiki Hitomi and electronic bass conductor gorgonn.
While living in the inspirational place Dalston, East London, they found a mutual appreciation and understanding for 'black rebel music' which has formed the basis of the Dokkebi Q sound. With gorgonn's attacking DSP mashed and hybridized together with Kiki's bewitchingly smoky and dreamlike vocals, Dokkebi Q bring forth their own 'roots' from the indigenous Ainu tribe, Japan, Korea and the UK.

Hansel

There is one Hansel. Hansel originates from BOSTON. HANSEL
Lorentzian Lineshaper
Label: D-Trash Records
"This was a tough CD to review, and even a tougher one to listen to, which is probably why I liked it so much." Hansel is Alan Fux (vocals, samples, arrangements, orchestrations) and M.X. Lopex (samples, sequences, programming).
Hansel is also a clash of genres and a study of the thermodynamics of disparate sounds traversing against the grain. Pranksters and poets, Hansel is what Suicide would be today if modern computer technology was available.
