Virus Syndicate are DJ/producer MRK1 and MCs JSD, Goldfinger & Nika D. Hailing from Manchester. MRK1 (Formerly Mark One) is one of the leading heads in the ever evolving dubstep scene and combined with his heavy electro, grime, hip hop and jungle influence his sound provides a super-sonic platform for the lyrically astounding mc’s. From satire to irony, humour to sincere, gangster to political commentary… Virus Syndicate offer an interesting perspective on life and a much needed breath of fresh air for the urban/dance crossover fan base.

Bizzy B

For those who don't know, Bizzy B's Brain label was one of the most futuristic in the early days when hardcore was becoming jungle. From 92-94 they released some of the best junglistic'ardcore there was. Classics like Darkness, Weekend, Dubplate Wars, 2 Dope ep, and artists like TDK whose TOG sublabel was a peak of amen choppage). Brain also put out the debut releases of Marc Caro (Technical Itch), Peshay and DJ Zinc (in the Swift and Zinc eps) and Slammin' Vinyl's Mike Slammer and Red Alert's first 2 releases.

Kettel

Kettel is Reimer Eising (born 1982), a self-described "elixir-brewing, camping-loving and musicmaking sorcerer-to-be." He is well-known for his playful, spontaneous melodies and organic folk sounds similar to Aphex Twin, Jega, and Plaid. Kettel has frequently performed live in his home country of the Netherlands, including at the Virus festival in Eindhoven, the Dutch Electronic Arts Festival in Rotterdam, and at Eurosonic and Noorderzon in his home town of Groningen. He has also collaborated on several projects of various remixes and compilations on his many record labels.

Solar Bears

Hailing from Dublin and Wicklow, Solar Bears formed in early 2009. The band consists of John Kowalski and Rian Trench who met at sound engineering college. Sharing a love of world cinema, their music combines a number of different influences ranging from electronica to film composers like Ennio Morricone and George Delerue. Their sound is a mix of programming, acoustic instruments, synths and vintage tape machines.

Syntheme

Syntheme is the moniker for the music of Global Goon performed by Louis Helena Wood. They have 3 EP’s on Planet µ Records (Vol.1, Vol.2 & Vol.3), and Lov3 from WeMe. There are other tracks available on her myspace page. Their new album "Lasers’n’shit" is out now on Planet Mu. Their works make heavy usage of sophisticated acid and bass lines upon solid drum sequences, ambient soft synth layers, and occasionally various heavily-edited audio samples. Syntheme brilliantly fuses very fresh minimal techno with the robust and harmonic foundation of mid-90’s acid.
