Concord Dawn, Matt Harvey & Evan Short, are a popular drum and bass duo originally from wellington, New Zealand. They own and run Uprising Records with such popular drum and bass songs as "Don't Tell Me" in collaboration with Tiki Taane and "Get Ready" featuring rapper Scribe. They have gained popularity in their home country being the second highest selling electronic artist ever and have been popular with australia's Drum and Bass followers. Hive a.k.a. Michael Petrie (born December, 1974) is a Los Angeles-based DJ, producer and record label owner who has contributed to dozens of recordings in the drum and bass musical genre. His Violence Recordings label is regarded as the premiere drum-and-bass label in the United States. His mixes have been used throughout popular media, although he is not particularly well known. Hive is on the Matrix soundtrack, and his songs are also used in several television shows. He has produced four albums, his latest being "Bedlam" which he released in 2002.
The recipient of the first release on the influential Metalheadz Recordings -- which he co-founded with Goldie -- and an early inspiration on the jungle star, Doc Scott began producing records in the early days of the '90s, when jungle was in its tender infancy. The ever-joyous strains of rave and hardcore were gradually giving way to darker sounds, more influenced by hip-hop, and few producers did more to birth the dark mid-'90s sound of jungle than Scott.
J Majik (real name Jamie Spratling) hails from Northwood, England and has been a drum and bass DJ since his early teens in the early 1990s, releasing his first track as early as 1992(as DJ Dextrous ) on the Planet Earth record label. Both Ed Rush and Optical are the co-heads of a drum and bass record label called Virus Recordings, based in London, UK. Both have earned acclaim separately, with Optical engineering tracks on Goldie and Grooverider's albums and releasing some excellent solo tunes on the likes of Prototype, 31, and Metro. Ed Rush also has countless releases, notably on No U-Turn, where he and Nico first emphasized the dark era of drum and bass with the masterpiece album Torque, and Metalheadz, where he produced such classics as "The Raven" and "Locust".
Source Direct were a jungle / drum & bass production outfit from St. Albans in the United Kingdom, consisting of Phil Aslett and Jim Baker. Their music would best be described as a combination of intensely complex, compressed drum edits, often suffused with a synthesis of menacing soundscapes and jazz-funk samples. They were largely considered to possess a similar production sensibility to Photek, but with a more hostile edge.
