http://www.girlafraid.co.uk Please note! The bandname GIRL AFRAID may refer to two bands. The band from Windsor full of dudes playing hardcore-pop and having far too much fun is still going strong. Basically - male vocals, yay. Female vocals, nay. Enjoy :). Girl Afraid is an English rock n roll quintet from Berkshire, England. Most of the members first met while they were high school age playing in various bands, including Aussie Roadster and Naked in Black, the latter achieving local success with the debut EP “Tell Everyone What You Saw Tonight”.

New Rhodes
New Rhodes were formed in Bristol in 2001. Less than a year after they formed and while still only teenagers, they played two nights at the famous Glastonbury festival on the Leftfield Stage and were soon supporting the likes of Razorlight, The Dears, The Delays, Hope of the States, The Killers, The Gliteratti, The Futureheads and Bloc Party.
The band's strong fan base throughout the UK and beyond includes many other bands with members of Bloc Party, The Futureheads and Keane as well as Graham Coxon all being photographed sporting New Rhodes Badges or T shirts.

The Brunettes
The Brunettes were formed in Auckland, New Zealand in 1998 by musical couple Jonathan Bree and Heather Mansfield. They were a paradox from the beginning - creating boy/girl melodramatic pop inspired by 70s New York punk and 60s girl groups but surrounded in an Auckland scene of opiate-infused garage rock 'n' roll. Inspired by his dreams of domestic bliss while a teenager living in rat infested junkie flats, and in direct rebellion to the messy hair...

Pollyanna
Pollyanna is the name of two musical artists : *Existing in the mid to late 90s, but still popular today, Pollyanna were an Australian indie/alternative rock band. The band consisted of, at various times, Matt Handley, Maryke Stapleton, Ace Moley, Andy Strachan, Shaun Lohoar, Glenn Maynard and Serge Luca.

Grandaddy
Grandaddy are an American indie pop band formed in Modesto, California in 1992 by singer/guitarist/keyboardist Jason Lytle, bassist Kevin Garcia, and drummer Aaron Burtch; although a noisy, lo-fi approach characterized early recordings like 1994's Complex Party Come Along Theories, with the 1995 additions of guitarist Jim Fairchild and keyboardist Tim Dryden the group's sound expanded exponentially over the course of subsequent efforts including the unreleased Don't Sock the Tryer and the 1996 EP A Pretty Mess By This One Band.

Kevin Burgess
South London based singer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist Kevin Burgess releases his debut album 'Butterflies At The Axis' in May 2009 through SoJam Records Former member of London four piece band The DD Coys, Kevin decided to 'go solo' after the band split up in early 2008, spending a year writing and recording new material, his debut, a concept album of sorts, entitled 'Butterflies At The Axis' is ready to release through independant record label 'SoJam Record' Live gigs are to follow in the summer of 2009 having assembled a backing band of friends and associates.

The Limousines
The Limousines are an Electropop band based in the Bay Area, California. The band consists of songwriter and vocalist Eric Victorino, and multi-instrumentalist and producer Giovanni Giusti. The band has had comparisons drawn with MGMT. Victorino, who had previously performed with rock band Strata, stated that he was "tired of band politics" and "needed another outlet, one that wasn't quite as dark and heavy". Giusti and Victorino started the Limousines after communicating online and exchanged lyrics, music and recorded vocals online.

The Society Islands
The Society Islands is the musical project of Cologne, Germany-based composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Boris Rogowski. The Society Islands were founded in 2006, shortly before the release of their debut album "Kiss & Tell" (until then Rogowski had already recorded a dozen of albums and EPs under the moniker M.D. which may or may not be released at a later point in time). The music of The Society Islands oscillates between Neo-Folk, chamber music and Indie Rock and is further characterized by stylistic shifts and ominous undertones.
