Anton Mobin

Self-taught musician, he turns very fast to an experimental practice with an approach done wonders for the self-confidence on improvised music for an intuitive music. He used to play with the collective H.A.K. and more with affinities; with Ayato in the improvised duet called “ Crash Duo”. Fascinated in great detail sounds in everyday life, it is under the name of Anton Mobin, that he produces sound pieces for radio (Arteradio), dance (Syderal Ballet), and theatre (Bobine Theatre). Field recordings and sound effects are the essential elements of his personal sound art.

Jasmin

With a name as elusive as the melodies that just hint in order to vanish, jasmin’s songs are revealing the possibilities of a minimal guitar trio. Sometimes jointly, sometimes in fierce competition, guitar, bass, drums and minimal electronics are spinning enticing textures. Those pleadings against the imperative of lyrics, you don’t have to call them post rock if you don’t want to. The deliberation annihilates itself by its sheer sustainability: On stage the guitarist frequently collides with the solid wall of bass and drums, disrupting it in feedback fever.

Brokeback

Brokeback 2011 consists of Pete Croke, Jim Elkington, Chris Hansen, and Douglas McCombs. They've spent the past winter and spring working on a new batch of songs. This fall they'll be playing the first Brokeback shows since 2008. More later... Brokeback is the name of Tortoise bassist Douglas McCombs' side project. In , he released the project's first recording, Field Recordings From the Cook County Water Table, which revealed a slightly less constricted version of the sound Tortoise had made famous.

Monolake

Monolake was formed in 1995 as the duo of Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, although on later albums the group consisted of Henke alone, with Behles focusing his time on running the Ableton software company. Their sound can generally be described as minimal techno filled with nice touch of fine tech dub, although the 1999 Gobi. The Desert EP, which contains a single 37-minute atmospheric piece, is a notable exception. Monolake first released an album and several 12"s on Berlin's Chain Reaction label, then on Monolake/Imbalance Computer Music, which is operated by Robert Henke.
