Eliane Elias (b. 1960) is a Brazilian jazz composer, pianist, and singer. Born on the 19th March 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil, Elias started learning to play the piano at the age of seven, and was transcribing solo portions of her parents’ jazz records by the age of twelve. After studying for six years (and teaching by the age of fifteen) at Brazil’s prestigious Free Centre of Music Apprenticeship, she continued her classical education with Amilton Godoy and Amaral Vieria.

Marsen Jules is one of the aliases for the musical output of Martin Juhls from Dortmund/Germany. As Marsen Jules he concerns himself with compression of atmosphere and emotion in the most abstract sense, based on carefully selected sound fragments and quotations. Maybe one could think of ordinary sampling, but Marsen Jules processes another step further. London-based disc jockeys Justin Langlands and Dave Henley first met in 1986, at the peak of the house scene. Under the moniker Blood Brothers they became stalwarts of the genre. Pressure Drop was born with the singles Feeling Good (Big World, 1990), Back To Back (Big World, 1990), Trancefusion (Big World, 1990).
The style changed with the album Upset (Boombastic, 1992), one of the precursors of trip-hop, the praxis (guest singers, guest rappers, guest horn sections) if not the sound (You're Mine).
