When a song called ‘Fall on Me‘, was played on the Johnnie Walker show last year on BBC Radio 2, he was inundated with e-mails wanting to know who this new singer songwriter was, where they could find out about her, and most importantly would he ‘please play more‘. He had so many requests that he decided to mention her website the next day, and informed the listeners that it was taken from ‘Montpelier‘ a debut album by a singer songwriter called Jane Taylor who was from Bristol and who interestingly enough had produced everything under her own little label, Bicycle Records.

Woodland refers to at least three artists. British-born new age composer Asha (Denis Quinn) displayed a talent and a passion for writing music even during early childhood.
He began writing simple songs at the age of three, a passion that evolved into a love affair with the radio. Inspired by Radio Luxembourg playing Buddy Holly, Van Morrison, and Leonard Cohen, Asha began writing folk and protest songs in his teens. Upon discovering his spiritual path in his early twenties, he turned to a more open compositional style, approaching composition and music as pure emotion, choosing lyrical content later on.

Moya Brennan, Máire Ní Bhraonáin, better known as Máire Brennan or incorrectly/phonetically as Moya Brennan (born 4 August 1952, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland), is a Grammy Award-nominated Celtic Folk singer. She began her singing career when her family formed the band Clannad in 1970. Brennan grew up as the eldest in a very musical family in a remote parish in the northwest of Ireland, a place where the Irish language and tradition was and still is very much alive.
