Franz Waxman

Franz Waxman (December 24, 1906 – February 24, 1967) was a Jewish German American composer, known for his bravura Carmen Fantasie for violin and orchestra, based on musical themes from the Bizet opera Carmen, and for his musical scores for films. Waxman was born Franz Wachsmann in Königshütte (Chorzów) in the German Empire's Prussian Province of Silesia. He orchestrated Frederick Hollander's score for the 1930 film Blue Angel (1930) and wrote original scores for several German films in the early 1930s.

György Kurtág

György Kurtág was born on 19th February 1926 at Lugoj in Romania, not far from the birthplace of fellow hungarian György Ligeti. Both young composers hoped to study with Béla Bartók in Budapest in 1945, but Bartók died in America and Kurtág went on to study piano, composition and chamber music with other teachers at the Budapest Academy. Among his early works was a Korean Cantata which expressed solidarity with the North Koreans in the Korean War against the US, but he reached the age of thirty-three before he was willing to give any of his works opus numbers.

The Mavericks are an American country music band. The group formed in 1989 in Miami, Florida. The Mavericks won Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Awards in 1995 and 1996. They won a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Country Performance by Duo/Group with Vocals. Their version of "Blue Moon" was featured in Tom Hanks' 1995 motion picture "Apollo 13". The Hall Brothers are: Nick Hall - Vocals, guitars
Duncan Hall - Vocals, guitars Usually joined by: John Carey - Violin, melodeon, etc. They also play rock shows as The Hall Brothers Band, with either Chris Bunyan or Nic Shipp on drums. Yorkshire-born brothers Nick and Duncan Hall have played music together for as long as they can remember. They first performed as The Hall Brothers in 1991. Since then they have played concerts and festivals throughout the UK and in Ireland and Holland.

Public Information are a contemporary jazz quartet based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Their present lineup has been together for about five years and they perform their own material, mainly written by guitarist Iain Carleton, along with new arrangements of various works within the modern jazz rubicon.
The line-up is completed by Don Kelman on alto sax & flute, Ron Ballin on electric bass and Des Travis on drums.

Solipsism

Solipsism is Craig Murphy, an Experimental Musician and Recording Artist from Glasgow in Scotland. His cross-genre style incorporates elements of Ambient, Techno, IDM, Electro and Experimental Music and his releases have been featured on various Radio Stations from across the Globe, including BBC Radio 1, BBC6 Music, XFM London and Digital Nimbus (U.S.A).
He is also a member of the Psychedelic/Folk band Shoosh, alongside Ed Drury and Neil Carlill. The latter who had several Top 40 hits in the UK with his band Delicatessen (Rough Trade, Big Life).
