A Tribe Called Quest

A Tribe Called Quest was an influential hip hop group of the 1990s, originally formed in Queens, New York City in 1985. The group is composed of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, and DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A fourth member, Jarobi White, was an intermittent collaborator appearing on their first album, but he left the group soon after, although he is mentioned as a 'sometimes' member on their third album liner notes. Along with De La Soul, the group was a central part of the Native Tongues Posse, and enjoyed the most commercial success out of all the groups to emerge from that collective.

Raashan Ahmad

Bay Area based rapper Raashan Ahmad is originally from Pasadena, and has been on the grind since his first release as one of the lead M.C.s in the Boston formed group Mission, who released a self titled album in 1999. He's also the front man for the live San Francisco hip-hop group Crown City Rockers who released the album "Earthtones" in 2004. In 2008 his 13 track solo record "The Push" was released on Om Music featuring production from DJ Vadim, Headnodic (of Crown City Rockers/Mighty Underdogs), Stro the 89th Key (of The Procussions), Descry and more.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia based True Live formed in 2003. They're a unique ensemble that cross boundaries of genre and style while engaging audiences with songs of passion and meaning. With performances and recordings of musical and lyrical depth and a line-up consisting of a three-piece string section (cello, violin, double bass), percussion, keyboards and vocals, the group create a contemporary, organic sound that could only be described as monstrous.

The YoungBlood Brass Band, started at Oregon high school under the name of "One lard biscuit"(1994-1998), is a brass band from Oregon, Wisconsin.
With sharp execution, sharp tongue, and a pick-up-and-go ethos, the Youngblood Brass Band cleanly fuses elements of brass band jazz and hip-hop. Since their debut in 1998 with the album Word On the Street, YBB have been a shotgun blast to the eardrum, demanding attention from all that have had the fortune to hear them while they tour both the US and Europe.
