Music from the heart. From an island called Iceland. A record that wants to boil over because of all its energy, lust and sometimes also funniness. A record, equally peculiar as idiosyncratic. As the pot is that huge 26-year-old Benni Hemm Hemm throws all possible ingredients in.
And it is that peculiar as all the different ingredients do not spoil the paste in the end. It’s a little big band with little big songs. The greatest of them takes only 2 minutes and 58 seconds: „Beygja Og Beygja“.
It's been only 3 years since Iceland's new king of lo-fi layered lushness, Sindri Már Sigfússon, began his official recording career. “Summer Echoes”, the new and second album of his solo-project Sin Fang (he dropped the “Bous”) is now already his 4th album release (including 2 records of his other musical outlet Seabear) since 2007. The album oscillates wildly unearthing glimpses of familiarity - vintage Flying Nun here, Paw Tracks there and a Belle and Sebastian pop nous - while retaining the own stark originality of this uber-talented artist and producer.
System is a name of at least four acts: 1) A Danish producer trio (aka Future 3).
2) A Swedish retro-synthpop duo.
3) A UK drum and bass producer (aka MC System).
4) A German punk band from the early 80s. 1) A Copenhagen, Denmark producer trio, of Thomas Knak (aka Opiate, producer of two tracks on Björk's "Vespertine"), Anders Remmer (aka Dub Tractor) and Jesper Skaaning (aka Acustic). Since 1995, they have been releasing, increasingly pop-oriented, albums as Future 3. They have a common love for dub and their music is usually heavy with: reverb, echo and bass.
