The King Hats

The King Hats formed in the latter half of 2007 with their first gig in September '07 at Glasgow’s 13th Note Café. They've since played venues from Inverness to London, along the way supporting Bromheads Jacket, Twisted Wheel, Ida Maria and The Rascals. The highlight of their career so far was playing the T Break stage at 2008’s T in the Park. That weekend also featured an acoustic set recorded for Vic Galloway’s Radio 1 BBC Introducing show. The King Hats are known for their great tunes and their energetic live performances. They truly are an act not to be missed.

Artist Type:

Five Star Prison Cell

Dubiously labeled a "Tech metal", or "Math Rock" band, Five Star Prison Cell offer a different and non-conformist approach to songwriting. Brutally heavy, Dark and forboding with the ability to switch time, pace, genre and style at the drop of a hat; Adam, Cam, Mark and Marc take great pleasure in constantly challenging themselves while at the same time serving up a dish of fresh new and always evolving ideas to their unsuspecting but ever growing fan base.

Artist Type:

Yowie

Yowie, a dual-guitar and drums trio from St. Louis, have been stunning audiences with their incomparable barrage of sonic kung fu. They accelerate the progressive-rock rhythmic sensibilities of Ruins and Magma and mutate them with the shrieker side of Big Black and Slayer. The band incorporates many variations in time signature, tempo, and tuning, to create a virtual audio maze, but no matter how complex things get, their compositions remain cohesive and compelling. After releasing their debut album Cryptooology on Skin Graft, they lost a guitarist.

Artist Type:

Rolo Tomassi

Rolo Tomassi are a band from Sheffield, England. Their name is taken from the fictional character Rollo Tomasi in the film LA Confidential. The band formed in 2005 and set their local scene alight by playing a synth driven technical mix of styles and genres difficult to define in a single word. The band self-released their first demo shortly after forming. Shortly after the band pursued a tape release via danger!laser!phaser!razor! where only 200 copies were made.

Artist Type:

Cleric

There is more than one artist under the name of Cleric 1.) A four piece from Philadelphia, Cleric's music mixes elements of grindcore, avant garde composition, doom and... something else entirely? Influenced by other metal pioneers such as Meshuggah, Converge, Fantômas, and Neurosis, their music zeroes in on a level of brutality and experimentation that a single band rarely maintains even for a few seconds.

Artist Type:

Cunt Butcher

Cunt Butcher is a grindcore band, formed in 2004 in Sydney, Australia but now based in Brisbane. Originally a solo project for Carcass Butcher, the band has been through several lineup changes and cofigurations. For almost two years Carcass and second bass player Cadbury Redbeard, together with a drum machine, terrorised the Sydney live music scene with raw meat, islamic blowup dolls, pigs, nudity, blood (both human and animal) and assorted other fluids, as well as playing some ultra-politically correct grindcore in between.
