Kill the Client

The idea to create a southern grind band that would up the ante in American grindcore came about in July 2002, exactly one day after the demise of founding members Chris Andrews and James Delgado's sludge band EOTS. Violent, blistering grind seemed like the only interesting option after wandering the destructive quagmire of slow-as-mud riffs and pummeling sound levels for a few years, learning their instruments and gaining stage experience.

pre

One of a growing number of bands making hardcore fun again, PRE are a London five-piece (vocals, guitar, bass, bass and drums). They released their debut album Epic Fits, fourteen tracks recorded live straight to tape in one day and mixed the next, back in September after becoming the first ever European band to sign to Skin Graft Records. Akiko’s fevered delivery has brought her comparisons to Melt-Banana’s Yasuko Onuki and The Yeah yeah yeahsKaren O.

Will Haven

Sacramento 4-piece outfit whose blistering sounds are considered to be influential in the development of the post-hardcore scene. The band started off with a ferocious self-titled EP (which was re-released posthumously), and following that the band made 3 quality albums, 'El Diablo', 'WHVN' and 'Carpe Diem'. The title track of the latter was the only single to have a video made which featured Deftones singer Chino Moreno. A live DVD, 'Foreign Films', is also available, which features the last gig the band did before the original split, at Capitol Garage, Sacramento in February 2003.

Cunt Butcher

Cunt Butcher is a grindcore band, formed in 2004 in Sydney, Australia but now based in Brisbane. Originally a solo project for Carcass Butcher, the band has been through several lineup changes and cofigurations. For almost two years Carcass and second bass player Cadbury Redbeard, together with a drum machine, terrorised the Sydney live music scene with raw meat, islamic blowup dolls, pigs, nudity, blood (both human and animal) and assorted other fluids, as well as playing some ultra-politically correct grindcore in between.

Converge

Converge is a 4-piece American band, formed in February of 1990 in Salem, Massachusetts, United States. Playing a blend of extreme metal and hardcore punk, this pioneer outfit helped define a lot of the rudiments of the fast-burgeoning metalcore and mathcore genres. They first started by playing covers of hardcore, punk and heavy metal songs, being self-confessed "hardcore kids with leftover Slayer riffs". The band soon graduated to playing live performances in 1991 after recording some demos on a 4-track recorder.
