Jordan and Ben first became mates when their mutual passion, in exploring and writing new music, yearned to be shared. When not playing and writing, they were raiding their father’s album collections for inspiration and direction. With the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Crowded House and Simon and Garfunkel they were in good stead for the future. Sleeper Service are a Leeds based folk/alt-rock collective started by Rory Evers and Will Tapply over the summer of 2008.
The duo began writing songs together whilst still in school and Sleeper Service is their newest manifestation, the genesis of which occurred in early June 2008. Enlisting the help of numerous fellow Leeds musicians: guitarist/mandolin player Jay Ramsurran, pianist/singer Emer MacManus, Henry Ruddell on organ and synths, Dave Walker on drums and James on bass guitar, the band are currently recording a full length album.

The distinctive sound that makes Keston Cobblers' Club so unique comes from a desire to create contemporary, catchy music, fused with the wholesome grittiness of traditional folk. Inspired by an upbringing surrounded by unusual instruments, folk music and country dance combined with a taste of the 21st century popular music scene, Matthew Lowe and his sister Julia grew up writing and performing music from an early age. Their parents were fervent musicians, of both traditional and contemporary backgrounds and a home full of different instruments for them to “tinker with” and play.
