Antonio Vivaldi

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (1678-1741) was a Venetian composer in the baroque era. Vivaldi was born on 4th March 1678 in Republic of Venice, today Italy; his father was Giovanni Battista, a baker before becoming a professional violinist, who taught his son to play violin; they subsequently toured Venice playing violin together. Vivaldi suffered from what was called "chest tightening" which might have been asthma; this did not, however, prevent him from learning to play the violin, composing and taking part in the prescribed musical activities.

Georg Philipp Telemann

Georg Philipp Telemann (14th March 1681–25th June 1767) was a German Baroque composer, born in Magdeburg. Self-taught in music, he studied law at the University of Leipzig. The most prolific composer of his era, he was a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach and a life-long friend of Georg Friedrich Händel. While in the present day Bach is generally thought of as the greater composer, Telemann was more widely renowned for his musical abilities during his lifetime.

Evelyn Glennie, born in 1965 in Aberdeen, Scotland, is a virtuoso percussionist. She is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a percussion solo performer. As one of the most eclectic and innovative musicians on the scene today she is constantly redefining the goals and expectations of percussion, and creating performances of such vitality that they almost constitute a new type of performance.

Michael Chance (born 7 March 1955 in Penn, Buckinghamshire, England) is an English countertenor. Chance was born in Penn, Buckinghamshire, into a musical family. After growing up as a chorister he attended Eton College, Berkshire, and later King's College, Cambridge. He took part in the project of Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir to record the complete vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Jean Langlais (15 February 1907 – 8 May 1991) was a blind French composer of modern classical music, organist, and improviser. H was born in La Fontenelle (Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany), a small village near Mont St Michel, France. Langlais became blind when he was only two years old, and was sent to study at the National Institute for the Young Blind in Paris, where he began to study the organ.
