2econd Class Citizen

2econd Class Citizen’s emergence on the scene has created a buzz of anticipation from a diverse collection of music circles. The young man from London, England (originally from Somerset and raised in Huddersfield) makes music that he simply calls "Wyred Folk": a hybrid of electronically produced folk combined with instrumental Hip Hop. Swinging between melancholy and pure anger, strong guitar riffs mined from old psych rock records and the weeping voices lifted from old folk music, he seems to find his real home in a crate of old and dusty vinyl.

Artist Type:

Pressure Drop

There is more than one artist with this name... 1.
London-based disc jockeys Justin Langlands and Dave Henley first met in 1986, at the peak of the house scene. Under the moniker Blood Brothers they became stalwarts of the genre. Pressure Drop was born with the singles Feeling Good (Big World, 1990), Back To Back (Big World, 1990), Trancefusion (Big World, 1990).
The style changed with the album Upset (Boombastic, 1992), one of the precursors of trip-hop, the praxis (guest singers, guest rappers, guest horn sections) if not the sound (You're Mine).

Lilacs & Champagne

As the producing-team behind Grails, Alex Hall and Emil Amos have hybridized and warped various culture’s versions of psych music over the past decade. With their new project they’ve created another umbrella under which to tweak hip-hop, tape-collage and the darkest creases of 70′s film-soundtracks with their lysergic and perverse style of head-music. The project’s name and imagery evoke a strange thrift-store mystery LP you might come across, unsure if you’ve discovered an exotic dub record, a flowery Bacharach AM radio classic or something by an obscure duo of Swedish avant-techno producers.
