Tiny Vipers

The Law of Unintended Consequences states that, while human actions often give way to their intended results, all human actions have at least one unintended result as well. For example: tell your lover you don’t love him and he will eventually leave your bed. But, driven from your bed, this same person might be pushed so far off track that he packs a bag and heads for a secluded mountain retreat where he replaces a life of beer and pretzels for one of prayer beads and incense. Our actions reverberate in unexpected ways.

Amen Dunes

Amen Dunes, the solo project of Damon McMahon, began with recordings made in the fall of 2006 in upstate New York. Those tapes were initially put on the shelf as personal recordings he never intended for release, and the following summer, McMahon moved to China and all but stopped making music. He would live in Beijing for the next few years, writing and recording only occasionally. With the release of DIA on Locust Music in 2009, however, he decided to move back to the States and form a band around Amen Dunes.

A native of France, El Boy Die has embarked on an ambitious career that’s taken him throughout Europe and North America. In 2002 DI-DIE Live was released on the California label Shrimper. It featured the songs of El Boy Die and David Ivar Herman Düne.

With the help of a few friends Jana Hunter, Devendra Banhart, and Rob Doran she has taken her palate of lonesome inky textures and blown it dry with a wanderer's spirit.
