New York Dolls

The New York Dolls are a rock and roll group formed in New York City in 1971. They found little success during their initial run, but the New York Dolls prefigured much of what was to come in the punk rock era and even later; the Dolls' over-the-top crossdressing influenced the look of many glam metal groups, especially that of early Mötley Crüe, and their shambling, sloppy but highly energetic playing style set the tone for many later rock and roll bands.

Less Than Jake

Less Than Jake is a ska-punk band formed in 1992 in Gainesville, Florida. They were recently released from their contract with Warner Brothers. Their current line-up includes Chris (vocals, guitar), Roger (bass, vocals, guitar at certain live shows), Vinnie (drums, lyricist), Buddy (trombone, bass at certain live shows) and JR (saxophone). The band's name derives from a dog Vinnie had while growing up, which was treated better than the rest of the family. It's also a reference to the phrase "everything is jake," which is an old phrase meaning everything is cool.

Chixdiggit!

The band was started after Kyle "KJ" Jansen, Mark O'Flaherty and Mike Eggermont started selling Chixdiggit! T-shirts at their high-school, although at this stage the band did not officially exist. Eventually the shirts started selling well, which provided the band with enough money to purchase a drum kit. However none of the band members had any musical experience nor did any of the members own instruments (except Mark who owned a classical guitar).
