Spazzys

Spazzys are an all-girl punk band formed in 2000 in Melbourne, Australia. They received strong support from Melbourne community radio station 3RRR, before being picked up by popular youth radio station Triple J. They released their debut album Aloha! Go Bananas! in 2004, with singles Paco Doesn't Love Me, Hey Hey Baby and My Boyfriend's Back all charting. They are a constant in the live music scene in Melbourne and have toured nationally several times, often playing festivals such as the Big Day Out.

The Suspicions

There are at least two bands named the suspicions. 1. Influenced equally by 70's garage punks like DMZ and the Scientists and unlikely pop heroes such as Rick Springfield and Joe Jackson, Seattle's the Suspicions strip both genres down to raw jangly riffs and catchy, sing-along choruses. Formed in early 2004, the group consists of Karen Mitchell on guitar and vocals, Bryan Standridge on bass, both formerly of the Knock-Ups from San Francisco, and Boom Boom Records alum (and current Fe Fi Fo Fum) Nick Larson on drums.

Mika Bomb

Lead singer Mika Handa arrived in London in 1998, with the goal of playing in a punk band. Recruitment for the band began with the arrival in London of the guitarist Agi. Another Mika (Mika Kanayama) on bass introduced an element of musicality to the bass department while a North London boy, Ergi, provided the drums. In 2000, they signed with the Beastie Boys' label Grand Royal. Mika Bomb performed in the West Country plugging their singles "Super Sexy Razor Happy Girls" and "Heart Attack".

The Launderettes

The Launderettes are an all-female group from Norway who play what they describe as "raw 60's garage punk". The group is led by the self-proclaimed "scream queen" Ingvild Nordang, alongside Linda Kastbakken (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Siri Eriksen (Bass & Backing Vocals), Ragna Nordenborg (Keyboards & Backing Vocals), and Cecile Asker (Drums & Percussions). They released their first two singles back in 2000 - Rebel Love was released on the Norweigan Label Sneakers Records, and I Wanna Jump Your Bones on German Label Thunderbaby Records.
